Fred has been a team oriented senior executive with a background of diversified responsibilities and accomplishments through 35 years in the automotive components supply industry with a Fortune 500 company. His roles included both international and domestic assignments.
Fred’s experience includes general management of a $300 million European-based aftermarket division with full P&L responsibility. In this capacity, Fred was responsible for automotive aftermarket operations for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, while located in Brussels, Belgium and Geneva, Switzerland.
Fred began his career in engineering positions and early on was given the opportunity to broaden his experience through assignments in marketing, sales, and information technology. As his career progressed, Fred gained additional multi-function experience including extensive acquisition and joint venture integrations, strategic planning and business development, process re-engineering and program management, business turnaround efforts, and general management of marketing, sales, information technology and finance functions.
Fred has consistently emphasized organizational development and change through programs grounded in formal alignment of team objectives with overall organizational strategy and goals. He championed the implementation of metric-based performance measurements to maintain team focus and track progress. Fred believes that the alignment of team objectives with overall strategy goals provides the basis for the team and its members to develop change management programs and action plans necessary to achieve success.
Fred views his 35 year career in business as a continual learning and teaching process. He believes his knowledge and experience base can help students increase their value to their organizations and raise their level of satisfaction with their careers. Fred has always strived to help the members of his organizations to increase their understanding of the complexities and dynamics of teams of which they are a part. He believes that successful organizational learning will enhance each participant’s ability to positively influence the team’s outcomes, while at the same time increasing their own value to the organization. Fred believes that this learning is a key component to successful organizations and to satisfying careers for individuals.
Fred has been married to his wife, Susan, for 41 years, and they reside in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Fred and Susan have two successful, married children and four grandchildren. Fred enjoys reading, golf, sports, travel, and time with his grandchildren.
