Sociology Minor

Defend Against Social Injustice

You want to enhance your understanding of people and how they behave as individuals and members of groups, so you can work with, benefit and serve them in a significant way. The sociology minor from Post University sets the foundation for career preparation in areas such as family planning, substance abuse rehabilitation, crisis intervention and social services and is especially useful for students majoring in psychology, human services, criminal justice, legal studies and other related degree programs.

Program Highlights
In our sociology minor program, you will learn about the differences among people, inequalities that exist within our world and how each of us can create positive change. For a total of 15 credit hours, your sociology courses include:

  • Principles of Sociology
  • Social Inequality
  • Social Welfare
  • Race and Ethnicity OR Sex and Gender
  • Sociological Theory

Each sociology class is taught by faculty members with extensive experience in the field. They will help you learn research techniques and how to apply your knowledge to the real world upon graduation.

Additionally, a personal academic advisor will guide you through your educational journey right from the start. At Post University, we understand our students may face obstacles as they work toward their degrees and careers, and we are committed to doing everything we can to address and alleviate any challenges.

Develop a better understanding of human behavior, add relevant training to your degree and get the personal support you need to succeed. If you’re interested in adding a sociology minor to your degree, consider our B.S. in Legal Studies, Human Services, Child Studies, or Management programs.
