Bachelor of Science in Accounting

Graduates with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting are among the most sought after graduates entering the business world after college. The Accounting program at Post University prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities within the accounting profession.

Accountants in public practice perform audits of their clients’ financial statements; provide tax planning and preparation services; and management consulting. Accountants in private industry are responsible for reporting and forecasting information for management, internal auditing, income tax compliance, customer profitability analysis, budget development, and costing activities. Not-for-profit organizations, such as governmental units, universities, and hospitals, rely on accountants for financial reporting and control, and their accountants perform any of the activities that are required in private industry, as well as the specialized task related to governments and not-for-profits.

Post students engage in a rigorous curriculum that prepares them to enter the work world ready to take on positions of responsibility.  As part of the Post experience, students are encouraged to gain real-world work experience through our cooperative education programs during a student’s sophomore or junior year summers.

Post University accounting graduates take positions in both large multinationals and small local firms as accountants, auditors, actuaries, budget analysts, financial managers, loan officers and counselors, and underwriters.
