Teaching and Learning Concentration (MEd)

You’re an educator who wants to discover innovative ways to improve student achievement, and you know that embracing new research-based teaching strategies is key. You aspire to inspire positive change in your current educational organization by leading the way in the development of engaging learning environments rich in the latest technology.

With our Master of Education with a Concentration in Teaching and Learning, you’ll be able to advance your current career by improving your knowledge in curriculum, instruction and assessment in a variety of educational contexts. For those currently in one of the following professions, this program is idea for you: licensed or independent schoolteachers, higher education professionals, museum educators, online educators, or corporate trainers.

In our MEd with a Concentration in Teaching and Learning, you’ll:

  • Be prepared to assume leadership positions in areas of teaching and learning
  • Learn to develop curricula using models of curriculum design, and apply advanced instructional strategies to specific learning outcomes
  • Develop your skills in using a variety of assessment strategies to evaluate and improve teaching and learning

The Teaching and Learning concentration within the MEd program is for teaching and/or curriculum professionals from varied education settings who seek a creative and innovative program to develop their curriculum and instructional skills. The coursework within the concentration focuses on research-based teaching strategies that promote learning and enhance achievement in all education settings. It also provides a differentiated learning experience so that students may pursue projects of interest to them.
