Tom SamphIn September, Tom Samph, Ph.D., was appointed President and CEO of Post University by the Board of Trustees. Dr. Samph has served as Post's CEO since 2004 and has played an integral role in the University's development and leadership.

Don Mroz, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Business, has added the title of Provost of the University. In this role, he will be responsible for further aligning the undergraduate and graduate degree programs and academic support services to ensure greater overall academic integrity among all programs.


Military Times Edge ranked Post University at #8 in its Best Colleges for Vets 2011 online edition. For the second year in a row, Post University was also included in G.I. Jobs magazine's Military Friendly Schools list.

On Nov. 5, Post University hosted a 5K Road Race for "Home for Our Troops" and raised more than $600 for the worthy cause.

Partnering with the Robotics Technology Consortium and Innovation Accelerator, our Instructional Design and IT departments helped design a virtual competition format for this year's Robobowl. Leveraging Post's expertise in online collaboration, contestants from around the country were able to "virtually" showcase their ideas in front of a panel of judges located around the country.


Post University EaglesOn Oct. 13, Post University held a ceremony for the naming the School of Public Service in honor of the late John P. Burke, former Banking Commissioner of the state of Connecticut. Burke, who served on the boards of Teikyo Post College Foundation, Teikyo Post University, and Post University, was remembered by friends and colleagues as a man of great humor and character. He passed away in Nov. 2009.


The men's soccer team's impressive season landed them a spot in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship (CACC) game. After controlling play for most of the game, they fell 1-0 in overtime to Nyack at a game played in the Philadelphia area.

Sprint FootballWith a record of 2-4, the Post University Sprint Football team showed signs of development in its second season. From the first game, a thrilling victory over Cornell, to the 48-0 domination over Princeton, this has been the team to watch!

Earning its first CACC playoff bid since the 2008 season, the women's soccer team also had a tremendous season.

Two Post University students received scholarships at this year's Business Women's Forum. One of the students, Krystal Florio, was featured in a story in the Middletown Press. Post was a proud Gold Sponsor of the event, which was also announced in the Litchfield Times.

Post University was the exclusive Education sponsor for the 2011 Hartford Business Journal's "40 Under Forty" Awards, a ceremony recognizing the Hartford region's driven young business leaders.

As part of its commitment to staying active in the community and supporting efforts to educate the public about the importance of civic engagement, Post University sponsored the Waterbury, Conn. Mayoral Debate. Professor of History Terry Baney penned a blog post on the value of political debates.

In the coming year, Post will once again sponsor the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Greater Waterbury program, providing speakers and online collaboration support.
