Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science / Environmental Studies
At Post University, the Environmental Theories and Applications Program is interdisciplinary, drawing on information obtained from many areas of study including natural sciences, mathematics, philosophy, political science, business and economics. Students in this program earn a Bachelor of Science degree and major in either Environmental Science or Environmental Studies. They use information from many fields to examine how the natural world functions and what impact human activities have on our local and global resources and environment.
Upon successful completion of a B.S. degree in Environmental Science, a student may be employed by state or federal regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Environmental Conservation, consulting firms, research / development companies, or local (city or town) governments.
Those earning a B.S. degree in Environmental Studies may be employed with non-profit organizations, environmental education centers (nature centers, parks, recreation centers), public relations firms, businesses concerned with environmental issues, or law firms focused on environmental law. Many students elect to pursue a graduate degree in fields such as biology, environmental science, education, law or medicine.
