Student Aid and Family Assistance

Financing Your Education & Your Life

At Post University, education is an essential part of your future success. The objective of the financial aid staff at Post University is to work with you and your family to develop a plan to make your education affordable—a commitment that Post University has dedicated itself to for over 115 years. To develop the most comprehensive plan, utilizing all available resources, we encourage students and parents to apply for all available scholarships, federal aid, grants, and loans. Our financial aid staff can deliver a financial aid award letter to you in as few as 7 to10 days after you have completed and submitted all application forms. Financial Aid commitments are made on a first come, first serve basis. A vast majority of students today use some combination of the following to finance their education and day-to-day living expenses:

  • Scholarships
  • Federal Financial Aid
  • Loan
  • Payment plans

When you submit your application for admission, it is important that you indicate whether you intend to apply for financial aid. Once the admissions office receives your completed application, you will be contacted to initiate your financial aid application. Only accepted students, whose financial aid applications are complete, will be considered for financial aid awards. To maintain awards, students must demonstrate satisfactory academic progress. Students must refer to the Post University catalog to understand the specific requirements for meeting SAP.

Procedures for Applying for Federal Financial Aid

If you are applying for Federal Financial Aid, you must remember to use Post University’s school code on your submission 001401. For fall admissions, it is best to apply by February 15. All other applicants are advised to apply for financial aid immediately after submitting an admission application. For fall admissions, financial aid applicants after February 15 will be considered on a first come, first serve basis. For best results, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. The Free Federal Financial Aid Form (FAFSA): Students and parents can easily apply for the FAFSA electronically via www.fafsa.ed.gov. This is the most efficient and effective way to apply for federal financial aid. You will need Post University’s school code when applying 001401.
  2. IRS Form(s) 1040 and Attached Schedules may be requested if you are selected for Verification (see pop up window info). At minimum, students and parents will need their W-2 forms from all jobs held last year, in order to accurately complete the FAFSA.
  3. Recommended Deadline is February 15. For best results, the FAFSA should be electronically submitted, by this date, via www.fafsa.ed.gov, using the Post University school code 001401.
  4. It is a good idea to have already applied for the Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) loan prior to applying for Federal Financial Aid. Your financial aid tuition planner will advise and assist you with this process. Once we receive the results of your FAFSA submission, our financial aid staff will send you an award letter outlining the financial plan options available to you.
