Counselor - Part Time

Post University is currently accepting applications for the role of Part Time Counselor  

Summary of Duties

  • Provide individual counseling to self-referred and mandated Post University Students

  • Fill out requisite clinical, administrative, and statistical paperwork

  • Report appropriate statistics to mandating offices

  • Provide group counseling experiences for students

  • Provide referrals to Psychiatrist, community resources, and agencies as appropriate

  • Provide outreach programs and consultation services to students, faculty, and staff.

  • Provide leadership and advocacy for mental health policy and initiatives

  • Serve as a resource to Residential Life Staff and Resident Assistant Staff

  • Report to Director of Counseling

Experience

  • Clinical experience with college age individuals.

  • Experience and clinical effectiveness in multicultural counseling approaches with ethnically and culturally diverse client and communities.

  • Knowledge, experience, and interest in working in these areas: international students; LGBTQA students; first generation college students; depression; anxiety; substance abuse; sexual assault; couple counseling; eating disorders; conflict resolution; debriefing, etc.).

  • The ability to conduct evaluations and risk assessments, and provide DSM diagnoses.

  • Group therapy

  • Group presentations

  • Awareness of community resources and referral sources

Education

  • MSW, M.Ed., PhD or educational equivalent
