The Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) is now available to qualified MSN – Nursing Education Specialization or DNP – Educational Leadership Specialization students at the American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Post University.

The purpose of this program is to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty nationwide. NFLP seeks to accomplish this by providing funding to accredited schools of nursing to establish and operate a student loan fund and provide loans to students enrolled in advanced education nursing degree programs who are committed to becoming nurse faculty. In exchange for completion of up to four years of post-graduation full-time nurse faculty employment in an accredited school of nursing, the program authorizes the cancellation of up to 85 percent of the original student loan amount (plus interest thereon).

While administrative offices are located at the Post University campus in Waterbury, Connecticut, there is no physical classroom requirement for students, and the college’s emphasis is on delivering nursing and healthcare education through a digital platform. Clinical rotations and/or practice learning experiences, when necessary, are typically arranged in students’ local areas for convenience.

Yes, American Sentinel College of Nursing and Health Sciences does accept transfer credits earned from other accredited institutions. To be eligible, courses must have been completed at a regionally accredited institution, and a minimum grade of “C” (or its equivalent) for undergrad courses and “B” for grad courses is typically required for a course to be considered for transfer. Upon applying, the Admissions Department and Registrar’s Office will conduct an official evaluation of your transcripts to determine which courses are eligible for transfer and how they apply to your chosen program. Keep in mind that there is a maximum limit on the number of transfer credits that can be applied to a degree program, which varies by program.
