Accounting Minor

Adding an accounting minor to your degree can give you valuable financial planning skills applicable to any career path or prepare you to pursue accounting careers as a bookkeeper, accountant, or payroll and billing clerk.

Coursework focuses on the foundational concepts and principles of accounting, as well as the basic framework for recording and reporting transactions. Your required accounting classes include financial accounting and managerial accounting, and you will choose any three of the following electives for a total of 15 credit hours:

  • Spreadsheet and General Ledger Software
  • Cost Accounting
  • Intermediate Accounting I
  • Analysis of Financial Statements
  • Fraud Prevention and Examination
  • Forensic Accounting

Upon completion of your studies, you will be able to prepare and analyze financial statements in a variety of business settings.
