In our ever-expanding world, having a unique narrative voice is an essential way to stand out and be heard. Find yours, develop solid writing skills, and build your resume and experience with an English Minor from Post University. This minor can lead to careers in education, technical writing, contract writing, or paralegal work—or it can be applied to business, communications, public service, and other majors to better prepare you for your desired career field or graduate studies.

Program Highlights

As an English Minor student, you will be exposed to all elements of writing and literature by developing your own creative and professional writing style and discovering the meaning in a variety of works and genres.

You’ll take a foundational class in literature and composition to get started on your 15-credit-hour English Minor. From there, you’ll customize your English Minor to complement your major—and your overall professional goals—with your choice of higher-level coursework in writing and literature that will give you the critical thinking and literacy skills that will make you marketable to future employers.

Each class in the English Minor program is led by experienced faculty who bring real-world insights into the classroom. These courses will help prepare you with the practical skills in communication, creativity, analysis, and social interaction you need to succeed in any industry. And while internships are not required to complete your English Minor, you will be equipped (and encouraged) to pursue opportunities in the journalism, media, blogging, or technical writing fields.

What Can You Do with an English Minor?

Upon completion of this English Minor, you’ll have honed skills and abilities for career paths and opportunities where clear communication is essential.
