Job Summary:
Post University is seeking a part-time Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach to join its expanding athletic staff. This position will be responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing successful year-round sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports programs. This includes, but is not limited to, design, implementation, and supervision of all strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for assigned teams, upkeep of the weight room facility while adhering to all rules and regulations of the University, and conference affiliations and the NCAA. This position is located in Waterbury, CT.
Essential Functions:
- Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach assists in planning and directing student-athletes sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports programs.
- Assists players in reaching the highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills.
- Must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specified sport.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
- Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years as a strength and conditioning coach in intercollegiate athletics or professional team setting preferred.
- Strong background in weight room organization and management, knowledge of nutrition preferred.
- Appropriate strength & conditioning certification (CSCS or SCCC) is required or attainable within 30 days of hire.
