Associate Faculty – Economics

JOB SUMMARY:

Candidates for the position of Associate Faculty (part-time adjunct instructor position) for economics in the School of Arts and Sciences would join a strong team of dedicated professionals at Post University. The Associate Faculty would be required to:

  • Teach ECONOMICS in an 8-week online format using Blackboard and/or 16-week traditional format on the main campus

  • Attend and successfully complete online Blackboard training

  • Meet all departmental standards and requirements as outline by the responsible Program Chair in the School of Arts and Sciences.

  • Respond to student questions in a professional manner within 24-48 hours.

  • Facilitate discussion boards using interactive media as well as promote critical thinking

  • Fully engage students on a day-to-day basis using various means of learning activities to meet different learning styles

  • Grade assignments with substantial feedback in a timely manner,

  • Understand and be able to proficiently use APA style as well as be able to provide students with feedback on ways to improve their use of this citation style.

  • Courses:  ECO201 Macroeconomics; ECO202 Microeconomics; ECO303 Money & Banking

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • PhD preferred, MBA or Master Degree in a related Business disciple required  

  • Previous adjunct teaching experience using Blackboard or other online learning management systems required.

  • Teaching experience in modality of interest and empathetic, student-centered philosophy.

  • Ability to meet departmental standards as mentioned in the job summary as well as be open to feedback.

  • Ability to use Blackboard as well as complete a required training.
