Associate Faculty – Master of Public Administration Program

Post University is seeking Associate Faculty – Master of Public Administration Program to join our growing team.

POSITION SUMMARY & SCOPE:

At Post University, our Associate Faculty are dynamic, professional educators.  They skillfully engage with students through delivery of exceptional, personalized learning and student coaching experiences that add unique value in helping students fulfill their career goals.   Associate Faculty provide whole hearted investment in students’ future through their caring time, talents, expertise and energy.  This position shares equal accountability for each student’s success which explains why the position is not referred to as ‘adjunct’.  Our Associate Faculty are a vital and valued part of our students’ learning experience and our Academic Affairs team.  In the (subject) program, this position will support student learning in the assigned courses.

The Master of Public Administration program (online) is looking for Associate Faculty member who have the professional experience and educational qualifications to teach the following courses. More information about the program and course descriptions may be found in Post University’s course catalog.

  • Ethics (PAD610)
  • Public policy (PAD616)
  • Labor Law and Relations (PAD625)
  • Public Finance (PAD634)
  • Capstone I and II (PAD698 and 699)
  • Emergency Management and Homeland Security concentration courses (PAD667, 668 and 669).

    • Provides amazing service to students in and out of the classroom through engaging classroom instruction in alignment with Post University’s Associate Faculty expectations.
    • Develops and carries out “best case” student-related solutions through cross functional collaboration.
    • Enhances the Post brand in the market place through consistent service excellence to students.
    • Adheres to all Post best practices protocols, policies, procedures and applicable laws or regulations while performing this role.
    • Nurtures creditable student relations through highest quality student evaluations.
    • Other expectations are assigned and completed on a discretionary basis.  
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
    • Passionate and amazing customer service to others.
    • Possess unquestionable integrity and work ethic.
    • Has superior relationship building skills with students or other associates.
    • Has Doctorate (Ph.D. or D.P.A.) degree. Other terminal degree holders will be considered with required minimum professional and relevant experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated excellence in, and progressively more responsible professional experience working in public sector or nonprofit organizations. For the MPA EMH concentration courses, a combination of public sector military organization experience will be considered.
    • Experience working with non-profit organizations is preferred but not required.
    • Experience teaching online graduate courses is preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • The ability to perform scholarly activities as appropriate when warranted or requested.
    • Models communication, presentation and documentation expertise/effectiveness.
    • Demonstrates affinity for the mission of higher education.
    • Has computer and systems’ usage competency using Blackboard or other LMS.
    • Possess the flexibility to adapt to a changing and dynamic environment.

  • The successful application will be required to successfully complete online associate faculty training.
