JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Project Management Business Services is being hired to promote and advance the integration and optimization of people, processes, and technology to drive increased business value creation. The Director PMBS will work collaboratively across all enterprise functions to develop a global continuous improvement strategy and programs that leverage quality methods such as 6-Sigma/Lean and Information Technology to align with the Strategic Goals of Post while considering present operational realities.

One of the core deliverables of the Director PMBS is to identify efficiencies targeted at general and administrative activities (‘G&A”) and activity support costs (COGS). The Director will lead operational effectiveness and cost management within Post’s operations.

The Director and their team are tasked with reviewing functional activities currently performed by Accounting & Finance, Associate Experience, Procurement, IT, Marketing, Academic Affairs, and the General Operational organization. They will be required to document process flows and provide insight into standardization and optimization of the processes within the organization as necessary to achieve leading performance levels.

In the short term, the position will be a dual report to the Chief of Staff.

This is a full-time position on Post’s campus in downtown Waterbury, CT, and is not a remote opportunity. Evening and/or weekend hours may be occasionally required. 

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a performance-based strategy and execution of continuous process improvement partnerships with all functions throughout Post.
  • Lead G&A and COGS cost reduction programs, including:
    • Improve sourcing and management of indirect procurement in conjunction with Post.
  • Manage activities to integrate Post acquisitions into the University’s operational scope
  • Assist in the management of the capital investment approval process for Post.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain metrics of success.
  • Assist with the evaluation of business cases for Post growth.
  • Lead the identification, business justification, and planning for continuous improvement initiatives within the Post function.
  • Lead identification and alignment of non-standard processes across Post functions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Desired Knowledge and Skills: 

  • A BS degree is required in Finance or Accounting; an MBA with a financially oriented concentration would be a plus.
  • Five to ten years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to communicate the outcome to peers and senior management
  • Understanding and familiarity with various financial statement preparation and how to read them.
  • Ability to view business issues from a broad perspective
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (advanced use of Excel and PowerPoint is essential) and ability to master data access in ERP systems
  • Ability to collect the appropriate data from different functions within the organization
  • Ability to work under time pressure, manage multiple projects at the same time, and prioritize the work appropriately
  • 6-Sigma training is a plus.
