Graduate Assistant – Football

Reporting to the Head Football Coach, the Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of a Division II football program.

Essential Functions: This position and their responsibilities include coaching; all aspects of recruiting; assisting with film breakdown; game and practice preparation, including video cut-ups; serving as an assistant for equipment; assisting the coaching staff in other duties as requested; and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach. The GA will assist in the ordering, distributing, fitting, repairing, budgeting and laundering of all football program equipment and apparel. This individual will assist in the overseeing of the ordering/inventory control process for the football program at Post University. Lastly, this individual will also assist with all aspects of contest management and set-up/breakdown of practices/games/events/recruiting camps and any other items relevant to creating a positive environment for an NCAA football program. This is an unpaid opportunity that offers 100% graduate tuition minus applicable fees. 

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have previous experience coaching or playing football at the high school, collegiate or professional level, possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Communicate with administrators, coaches, and student-athletes on a daily basis. Excellent oral and written communication is necessary. Basic math skills with the ability to prepare requests for bids. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability for problem solving. Ability to stay calm in stressful situations. Ability to react quickly to unforeseen immediate demands. Ability to prepare written bids, and fit/repair equipment and apparel. Ability to use computer-based programs.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of experience in a football setting. Must be accepted into one of the Post University graduate programs.

Preferred Qualifications: Equipment experience. Experience managing inventory process and apparel contracts.
