Congratulations to Sport Management Program Chair Dr. Deron Grabel! Dr. Grabel was elected to the prestigious Baccalaureate/Graduate Board of Commissioners of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and will serve on the Board until June 2021.

Over the past 10 years, he’s had an opportunity to prepare hundreds of students for the field of Sport Management – an excellent way forDeron Grabel people to convert their passion for sports into careers that link to what they love. He says it’s important to guide students along their academic path with the goal of employment in mind…careers that can extend from marketing and administration to sales and professional or collegiate sport, among others.

While serving on the ACBSP Board, Dr. Grabel will help determine whether business school accreditation applications meet the organization’s standards.

Dr. Grabel embraces ACBSP because, like he does, it promotes continuous improvement and recognizes excellence in business education programs. Not only that, ACBSP encourages active faculty involvement in the business world in order to provide quality, relevant learning experiences – important steps for providing students with the best education possible.

In addition to his work for, and with, ACBSP, Dr. Grabel is actively involved with Nu Zeta, the Post Chapter of the Delta Mu Delta business honor society, which recognizes and encourages academic excellence. Thanks to people like Dr. Grabel and others in the Malcolm Baldrige School of Business who care deeply about bringing excellence to business, in 2015 – just one year after it was established – Nu Zeta was recognized as a Star Chapter for outstanding operations and administration!

It’s that sort of attitude and commitment that Dr. Grabel brings to his students at Post, and he will bring to the ACBSP Board of Commissioners. No doubt the Board will be as pleased with what he brings to the table as the Post Family is.

Congrats again, Dr. Grabel.
