WATERBURY, CT – (July 2, 2018) – As Post University® looks to the future, the school has reorganized its administrative leadership to further reinforce the commitment to delivering personalized educational experiences. John L. Hopkins has been named CEO and President, following the recent retirement of President Donald Mroz, Ph.D. Additionally, Mark Chesney has been appointed Post® Vice President and Joan Huwiler was named Director of University Communications.

As CEO, Hopkins led the recent University rebranding and commitment to delivering a personal education, as well as the impending move of approximately 600 higher education associates and professionals to downtown Waterbury. His new combined title spotlights the delivery of a personalized education as the DNA of what drives Post and provides clarity for faculty, associates, students, and regulators.

To ensure extraordinary student experiences continue across the University, especially at its Campus, Post has created the position of Vice President, to serve as a Main Campus student advocate, support student events and activities, oversee Campus operations, facilitate resolution of complex student issues, and lead all student support teams. Chesney has been tapped to fill that role.

Chesney has worked in higher education for the last 20 years, but also brings extensive experience in customer service, finance, administration, campus operations and facilities management to the University from his executive-level positions at a variety of established, customer-focused businesses.

According to Hopkins, Chesney will hold Post administrators and associates accountable for delivering extraordinary student experiences in order to ensure the overall success of the University. He also will lead the build-out of Post’s new downtown Waterbury education hub in the landmark Howland-Hughes Building.

Huwiler joins Post University from Edible Arrangements, where she was Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations. Huwiler brings to the University more than 15 years of experience across Connecticut and beyond with an array of corporate, non-profit and governmental organizations, including Yale Health System and as a consultant to the New Haven Public School System and Bridgeport Housatonic Community College, among others.

Huwiler will lead the University’s internal and external communication initiatives, including the school’s social network presence. She will continue to build Post’s regional and national visibility, strengthen local partnerships, and engage Post’s stakeholders via community relations, public relations and the school’s growing social channels.
