WATERBURY, CT – (April 18, 2019) –Robert Maxwell has joined Post University as Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Management. Maxwell, a former captain in the Waterbury Police Department, will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the security and law enforcement activities of all campus safety officers.

Additionally, he will be responsible for creating a culture of safety within the University community and for bringing together students and associates as part of that process.

Among other duties, Maxwell will lead campus security personnel, direct the University Threat Assessment Team, and engage students and associates in preparedness efforts, which will encompass safety training and emergency drills, among other elements. He also will be involved with Post online students, helping ensure they operate in a safe and secure learning environment.

Maxwell, who lives in Naugatuck with his wife. He attended the University of Connecticut in Middletown, CT and graduated from the Municipal Police Training Center in Meriden, CT. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Gulf War.
