Post University’s commitment to preparing students for career success was recently featured on the Career Everywhere Podcast, where Barbara Zerillo, senior director of the Career Development Center, discussed the university’s evolving approach to career readiness and the role it plays in student success.
Zerillo shared how Post continues to strengthen its career development model to better serve both on-campus and online students. She discussed the university’s strategic investment in expanding the Career Development Center, enhancing technology and resources, and further integrating career readiness into the student experience as one of Post’s five institutional strategic pillars.
The conversation also explored how data informs the university’s approach. By benchmarking against peer institutions and analyzing Post’s own student outcomes, the Career Development Center found that students who met with a career coach within their first two terms were 13% more likely to remain enrolled, underscoring the connection between career development, student engagement, and persistence.
Throughout the interview, Zerillo emphasized that career readiness is more than preparing students for their first job. By embedding career development throughout the student experience, Post University helps students build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to achieve their academic and professional goals.
