While many were enjoying summer break, the Post University facilities team and contractors were hard at work making $2 plus million worth of improvements to enhance student life, athletic programs, and academic spaces. As we head into the new semester, here is a look at the exciting changes you will see on campus.

LaMoy Field is shining brighter than ever, literally!  For the first time in its history, lights have been installed. This long-awaited upgrade will allow six sports teams to practice later in the evening, giving student-athletes more flexibility to balance classes, study time, and athletics. They will also make it possible to schedule certain home soccer, lacrosse, and softball games for early evening, easing travel schedules and improving the game-day experience. To celebrate, we are planning a special event during the evening beginning with the women’s soccer scrimmage on Thursday, August 28.

“This $2 million plus investment is about more than bricks, lights, and new spaces—it is about creating an environment where our students can excel in every aspect of their university experience,” said Senior Vice President Scott Allen. “From the athletic field to innovative learning spaces, these improvements will benefit our students and associates for years to come.”

Construction is also underway on the new LaMoy Field press box, set for completion in early September. This facility will house official scorers, coaches, announcers, photographers, and media for both softball and multipurpose field events.

Construction on Field

At the Post Downtown Waterbury on Bank Street building, a multi-media studio is nearing completion. Designed for teaching, recording, podcasting, instructional design, and other academic and creative uses, this state-of-the-art space will soon have formal policies and procedures in place for campus-wide access and external use.

The Traurig Library Renovation is moving forward as well. The first phase includes a new outdoor patio with seating—perfect for relaxing, studying, or meeting with faculty. The second phase, scheduled for summer 2026, will completely transform the lower level into a modern teaching-learning center with open seating and private conference areas.

Finally, the transformation did not stop at our athletic and academic facilities; our living and learning spaces got a major refresh, too. Hess Hall now boasts completely remodeled restrooms, Leever Center has upgraded HVAC systems for year-round comfort. When students return this fall, they will be stepping onto a campus that feels fresh, inviting, and ready for another year of growth, belonging, and achievement.

These projects reflect Post University’s commitment to creating exceptional spaces where students can thrive—on the field, in the classroom, and throughout campus. The future is looking brighter than ever.
