President’s Letter – A Message from John L. Hopkins, CEO & President

Ready to engage, lead and forge new paths

As we approach the annual University Commencement, anticipation fills the air. It’s a momentous occasion where our students bask in the culmination of their hard work and dedication. Picture the historic Palace Theater, bedecked with a sea of graduates adorned in vibrant cords and medals, each symbolizing their academic triumphs.

This year, we’re set to confer nearly 2,000 degrees at our 2024 Commencement, a testament to the collective pursuit of knowledge and excellence. Among these, over 450 will be graduate nursing degrees, including the esteemed Doctor of Nursing Practice—a testament to the caliber and commitment within our institution.

Yet, beyond the numbers lies a deeper truth: each member of the 2024 class chose our University not just for personal gain, but to uplift themselves, their professions, and the broader community. It speaks volumes about our faculty’s dedication and our ethos of personalized education.

Our students stand poised to make a difference, armed with knowledge, empathy, and a drive to effect positive change. They are not just graduates; they are ambassadors of progress, ready to tackle the world’s challenges with vigor and compassion. They are primed to not only engage but to lead, and to forge paths that inspire others to follow.

In the pages ahead, we are pleased to share stories of current students, alumni, faculty, and staff members who embody the spirit of professional achievement and personal fulfillment. They lead not just with competence, but with authenticity—a quality our world needs now more than ever. As individuals and as leaders, they exemplify the values of integrity, empathy, and resilience that will shape a brighter future for us all.

Kind regards,

John L. Hopkins
