Black History Month Event

Combating Disinformation and Misinformation

Struggle determining the difference between “fake news” and real news? Here are some basic steps we can all take in the fight to stop misinformation and disinformation:

  1. Recognize the power and influence of mass media.
  2. Check the source and date of publication.
  3. Look beyond the headline and image.
  4. Be aware of confirmation bias.
  5. Step our of your comfort zone.
