University’s Learning Management System Upgrade to Blackboard Ultra Begins
What You Need to Know
The University is excited to share that upgrades to Blackboard Learn have begun, and before 2026 is over, all students will be using Blackboard Ultra for their courses. This upgrade offers a cleaner, more modern design that makes it easier to stay organized, keep track of due dates, and navigate your courses.
Select Undergraduate courses and all Graduate courses will use Blackboard Ultra for the terms beginning in January 2026.
In late-summer 2026, all courses (Undergraduate and Graduate) will transition to and use Blackboard Ultra.
While there are some changes to the course navigation, accessing courses through the Student Portal will remain the same. Additionally, each Blackboard Ultra course homepage includes a Student Quick Start Guide, which we encourage you to review at the start of your course to become familiar with the new layout.
Online students should contact student success advising at 203.568.1652, and Main Campus students should visit the Advising Office in Hess Hall Room 203 with any questions or assistance needed navigating courses in Blackboard Learn and/or Blackboard Ultra.
Virtual Campus Life Involvement Innovator:
Teresa Moreno
Virtual Campus Life is proud to recognize our first Involvement Innovator of 2026 – Ms. Teresa Moreno!
Leadership is Teresa’s superpower, and she has exemplified this time and time again in her involvement with the online student clubs. Teresa has been instrumental in the
creation and organization of numerous online student clubs, development of key student government policies, procedures, and trainings and was the key driving force behind the Virtual Campus Life student club fair held recently. Teresa says that “getting involved in virtual campus life has become part of my soul—I thrive on creating connection, lifting others up, and turning ideas into action. I bring energy, empathy, and relentless follow-through to every initiative, and my passion for helping others drives me to give 100% to bettering the online student body and the broader Post University community. I offer my sincere thanks to the Virtual Campus Director for making it all possible, and to my teammates, colleagues, friends, and now family—whose support and collaboration have been essential; it takes an exceptional team to make an exceptional leader, and I would not be where I am today without them.”
Involvement Innovators are Post University online students who are recognized for their initiative and passion in helping to strengthen the online student club community.
Making Your New Year’s Resolutions Count

The New Year brings an opportunity to take a fresh look at issues we’ve been wrestling with and a chance to tackle them again. Here are a few suggestions for some achievable goals for the new year:
- The No. 1 New Year’s resolution in any year is … getting in shape: Try simple changes to eliminate calories, like reducing your portions by just 10 percent and adding just 20 minutes of a simple exercise like walking to your daily routine.
- Try to be a better listener: Whether at home or at work, listening is a gift you can give that costs you nothing. Listening does not involve solving the other person’s dilemma – that is their job. When offering support by listening actively, you can give family and friends just what they need to approach their own concerns in a new way.
- For those with young children, try to take the words “hurry up” out of your vocabulary: Sit yourself down and strategize ways to make your morning and bedtime routines a little slower and saner. Your kids will thank you.
- Consider volunteer work: There is certainly no shortage of need in the world – resolve to do your part to make the world a better place. If you choose a volunteer activity like helping rehab a home for the homeless or coaching a baseball team, you get the benefit of adding exercise as you help the world.
