Student Spotlight: How Campus Involvement Shaped Anastasia Dedgjonaj’s, ’26, Journey
Anastasia Dedgjonaj, an international student from Albania majoring in Legal Studies in the John P. Burke School of Public Service and Education, first learned about Post University through her sister, a 2023 criminal justice graduate.
During her sophomore year, Dedgjonaj joined the Law Club. What began as a way to connect with peers quickly became a gateway to leadership. Faculty members also recognized her determination, “Anastasia is a motivated student. She was active in promoting Constitution Day on campus, and in the spring, she completed a legal studies internship,” said Linda Latimer, her legal studies club advisor and chair of the Legal Studies program. With support from mentors, Dedgjonaj grew more involved, eventually running for student government. Her election as SGA president marked a milestone not only in her own journey but also in her commitment to helping other students find their voices.
“Each year at Post has been a journey of growth, learning, and incredible experiences,” she reflects. “When I first came to the United States, my English was not perfect, and I felt out of place. But if I can do it, so can other students.”
Her advice to new students is simple but impactful: “Step forward with confidence. Explore clubs, attend events, talk with professors, and share your ideas. Each perspective matters, and that is what makes our community truly special.”
