Understanding Consent
Brought to you by Title IX and Disability Services
Consent is an ongoing, clear, and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity. It must be freely given—meaning someone underage, intoxicated, unconscious, or under coercion cannot consent. Consent should be enthusiastic, with a focus on a clear “yes” rather than the absence of a “no.” It must be reaffirmed throughout any encounter—
agreeing to one act does not imply agreement to others or future activities. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and non-verbal cues can also signal discomfort.
Tap the Learn More button below for some takeaways from the “C-Word Consent” program hosted by Title IX and Disability Services on August 24, 2025.
Respecting boundaries and communicating openly ensures that all parties feel safe and respected.

Start the Semester with a Check-In
As we begin to settle into this new semester, it may come with a lot of excitement, new opportunities, and sometimes a little stress. One of the best ways to take care of your well-being is to pause and check-in with yourself and with others.
- With Yourself: Ask, “How am I really doing right now?” Notice your energy, stress level, and what you might need, whether that’s rest, movement, or connection.
- With Others: A simple, “How’s your week going?” or “Anything I can do to support you?” can go a long way in building community and reminding someone they’re not alone.
Starting small helps: one mindful check-in a week with yourself, and one with a friend, classmate, or peer. Together, these little moments create a campus culture of care.

New Tool Alert: Citation Builder
We know citations can be tricky, so we are excited to introduce a new tool to make it easier—Citation Builder! This tool is designed to help students learn how to correctly create and format citations for their assignments. You can find it:
- On the Writing Center website: Home – Post University Writing Center
- On the Library page on Post.edu as well as accessing it via Blackboard in your student portal: APA Style Guides, Student Resources & Instructor Forms Post
