Welcome from the Center for Career and Professional Development

Career Advisors Christina Cummings and Michael Nadtochij are excited to welcome all new and returning students!  The mission of the Center for Career and Professional Development is to assist students with making informed career
decisions using its diverse and comprehensive services.  A member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE), the team can help with everything from networking, job search and application assistance, resumes and cover letters, mock interviews and interview preparation, and more.  Several job search tools are available to all Main Campus and Online students, including Handshake, The Forage, O*NET, and Big Interview.  If you aren’t already, follow them on Instagram (@PostCCPD) for career-related tips, job opportunities, and event information.  Appointments can be scheduled online or in person at your convenience. Main Campus First-Year Experience Common Read 2024

A great book builds connections, bringing a community together to discuss, debate and share in its story.  This year, the First-Year Experience Common Read selection is The Art Thief by Michael Finkel.  The book, which, according to Amazon, paints a “…spellbinding portrait of obsession and flawed genius.”  As our first-year students read about Stéphane Breitwieser, who unlike most thieves, never stole for money, they will engage in a dialogue and discussions to foster an enjoyment of reading, build confidence in their critical thinking skills, and connect learning to creativity, curiosity, and fun.  Be on the lookout for events and activities all throughout the fall semester (and during the School of Arts & Sciences celebration of STEAMtober in October) related to this year’s Common Read.
