From the volleyball court in the Drubner Center to the softball diamond and beyond, Brianna Root, a proud alumna of Post University (’19, ’22), is charting a course filled with passion and purpose. Currently serving as the marketing manager for the Tulsa Drillers, the AA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Brianna’s journey to this position is a testament to the skills she honed during her time at the University.
Having earned her dual undergraduate degrees in Sport Management and Communications and Media Studies, Brianna’s time as a student athlete was adorned with accolades, including being named a CACC Rookie of the Year, a four-time All-CACC selection, and a two-time All-Academic selection. Beyond her athletic achievements, she also served as the president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and was nominated as NCAA woman of the year, showcasing her leadership abilities both on and off the field.
Driven by a desire to immerse herself in the world of sport management, Brianna sought out hands-on experience, securing a coveted internship with the Baltimore Orioles. During her four months with the Orioles in the Ballpark Operations department at Camden Yards, Brianna’s skills flourished, laying a solid foundation for her future endeavors.
Reflecting on her journey, Brianna credits her internship experiences, including her earlier work with the Bristol Blues, alongside her coursework at Post University, for equipping her with the necessary tools for success in her role today. However, recognizing the importance of continuous growth, Brianna pursued an advanced degree, returning to Post to pursue her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in leadership at The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business. Graduating in 2022 as a Baldrige Scholar, she stood among the top five percent of graduates from the school, further solidifying her commitment to excellence.
Brianna looks back on her Post experience with gratitude and pride. Highlighting the invaluable mentorship and real-world experiences offered by the University’s professors, Brianna encourages current students to seize every opportunity and cultivate meaningful connections.
With her sights set on becoming an AA-Affiliated general manager in baseball, Brianna Root Harris exemplifies the spirit of determination and perseverance instilled by her alma mater, Post University.
