Seasoned higher education leaders, including the first-ever director of the Virtual Campus, will expand and strengthen essential student services across the University

WATERBURY, Conn. (February 4, 2025) – Post University is pleased to announce the appointment of three distinguished directors to key leadership positions, focused on enhancing and expanding essential student services. The university has named Nicole MacCoy as the first-ever director of the Virtual Campus, a newly created position focused on enhancing services and engagement for online students; Barbara Zerillo, Ed.D., as director of the Center for Career and Professional Development; and Barbara Alenckis as director of Title IX and Disability Services.

As the inaugural director of the Virtual Campus, MacCoy will lead efforts to create a dynamic and inclusive online student experience by developing programs and initiatives that foster online community engagement, connection and a strong sense of belonging. She will oversee the coordination of non-academic services, including events, webinars and student support initiatives, ensuring that online learners have the resources and opportunities to thrive both academically and personally. With more than two decades of experience in higher education, she will draw on her background in housing, academic and student success, as well as her work as a faculty member and instructional designer, to build a comprehensive and supportive environment for the university’s online student population.

MacCoy holds a Master of Science in college student personnel and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rhode Island, along with a certificate in women’s studies.

Dr. Zerillo, director of the Center for Career and Professional Development, will oversee and expand all career service initiatives, including job placement support, internship programs and professional development workshops. She will collaborate with faculty and staff to seamlessly integrate career readiness into the curriculum, design tailored career coaching for students and forge strategic partnerships with industry leaders to create new opportunities. Drawing on her 20 years of experience in higher education and career services, Zerillo will focus on building innovative, student-centered programs that prepare graduates to excel in today’s dynamic and competitive job market.

Zerillo earned a Doctor of Education in organizational leadership from Northeastern University. She also holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.

With a distinguished 24-year career in law enforcement in Waterbury and Washington, Conn., Ms. Alenckis brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to her new role as director of Title IX and Disability Services at Post. Her background in safety and community engagement, combined with her passion for fostering inclusive environments, positions her to effectively lead the university’s efforts in supporting students and ensuring compliance with Title IX regulations. Collaborating closely with leadership, faculty and student services teams, Alenckis will work to implement individualized accommodations, enhance campus accessibility and cultivate an inclusive and equitable environment for everyone.

Alenckis is a U.S. Air Force veteran and served four years in the Connecticut Air National Guard. She is a retired sergeant with the Waterbury Police Department.

Post looks forward to the contributions and leadership of its new directors as they guide their respective departments in providing comprehensive, innovative support and services to enhance the student experience.
