Waterbury – December 11, 2024 — Post University is proud to announce the successful completion of its United Way campaign drive, raising an impressive $317,000 to benefit the Greater Waterbury community. The funds, contributed by Post University associates will directly support vital programs addressing education, health, financial stability, and basic needs in the region.
The campaign is a testament to Post University’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of giving back. Through a combination of employee contributions, creative fundraising events, the University exceeded expectations in rallying support for this important cause.
“This campaign reflects the compassion and dedication of our colleagues, who are making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors in need. It also reinforces the United Way’s impact in our community,” expressed Andrew Smith, EdD, Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs in the John P. Burke School of Public Service and Education at Post University.
Joining Smith as a co-chair of the campaign was Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs in the Burke School, Dr. Ioana Badara, who said, “Participating in the campaign was an eye-opening and rewarding experience for me. One of the most impactful aspects was learning about ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) report. It reinforced for me the importance of the United Way to address pressing needs.”
The United Way of Greater Waterbury will use campaign fund to support impactful initiatives in the community, including educational programs for local youth, assistance for families in crisis, and resources for individuals striving to achieve financial independence, will distribute the funds raised.
