WATERBURY, Conn. – February 10, 2025  – Post University’s High School Academy is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Danbury Public Schools, the seventh-largest school district in Connecticut, to provide Danbury High School students with access to dual enrollment programming. This partnership reflects Post University’s commitment to creating opportunities for high school students to accelerate their higher education journey and prepare for future academic and professional success.

Through this agreement, Danbury High School students will have the opportunity to enroll in college-level courses offered by Post University, earning both high school and college credits simultaneously. The dual enrollment program aims to provide students with a head start on their postsecondary education, reduce the overall cost of earning a college degree, and foster academic excellence.

According to the Connecticut Department of Education, over 18,000 students in the state, in the 2022-23 academic year were earning three or more college credits prior to high school graduation. By joining forces with Danbury Public Schools, Post University aims to expand these opportunities to even more students, fostering a culture of achievement and academic readiness.

“We are delighted to partner with the school district to offer opportunities to deserving high school students in Danbury Public Schools,” said Post University’s Director of High School Academy Chad McGuire. “At Post, we believe education is a fundamental right and we are committed to developing programs that empower students from all backgrounds to access higher education. I look forward to welcoming the outstanding Danbury students into the Post family.”

Danbury Public Schools joins an impressive roster of school districts already collaborating with Post’s High School Academy, including three of Connecticut’s largest school districts. This growing network of partnerships underscores the Academy’s mission to equip students with tools they need to meet the challenges of higher education and their future careers.

“Our partnership with Post University exemplifies the kind of forward-thinking collaboration that enhances student learning, opening doors to college-level coursework and real-world academic experiences, “ said Superintendent of the Danbury Public Schools, Dr. Kara Quinn Casimiro. “This initiative directly supports our Danbury Portrait of a Graduate by fostering independence, academic excellence, and readiness for both higher education and the workforce, ensuring that every student graduates prepared to thrive in an ever-evolving world.”

Since its inception, Post University’s High School Academy has been a leader in fostering partnerships with Connecticut schools, providing thousands of students with the opportunity to earn college credits in a supportive and innovative learning environment. The program’s flexibility allows students to explore a range of disciplines, ensuring alignment with their interests and career aspirations.
