WATERBURY, Conn. (October 11, 2022) – With an unwavering commitment to the mental and emotional health of its student body, Post University has named Renee Pitre as its new director for the Counseling Center at Post University.

In her new role, Pitre will manage all aspects of the Counseling Center, including overseeing the many clinicians who provide professional counseling services and wellness resources, advocate for mental health and develop online and in-person wellness initiatives.

Pitre brings more than 15 years of clinical experience serving young adults, teens and children in both private therapy settings and community education. A former adjunct faculty member at Lesley University, California Institute of Integral Studies and New York University, Pitre is comfortable on a college campus. She is a registered drama therapist, board certified trainer, and a licensed professional counselor.

Trained in drama therapy, Pitre plans to bring her unique perspective to add dimension to Post’s therapeutic environment. “I look forward to collaborating with students and creating robust programs geared towards caring for self and community,” she said.

Pitre earned a Doctorate in Philosophy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a Master of Arts from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
