Congratulations to Post University students Ronnica Bartley, Brianna Root and Tong Yu, who each received a $2,000 scholarship from the Business Women’s Forum (BWF) of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce. Dedicated to the professional and personal growth of working women, BWF raises scholarship funds for female Post University students pursuing degrees in business. Congrats to these impressive students from our Malcolm Baldrige School of Business.
Ronnica Bartley, Manchester, Jamaica – Ronnica is pursuing her BS degree in Business Administration and Legal Studies. She is a self-driven academic scholar who has been recognized for her achievements in management, campus participation, GPA and leadership. She has been serving the children of her community as a teacher, mentor and advisor, while taking an active role in various Post organizations and clubs. “Life doesn’t always go as planned, so keep life’s surprises in your plan,” she says. “Make the small steps and set-backs worth the effort by getting back up again.”
Brianna Root, Connecticut – Brianna is studying for a dual degree in Sport Management and Communication and Media Studies, with a minor in Art. She is a member of the University’s Sustainability Committee, works as a Resident Assistant and is president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Brianna also competes on the University’s Division II Volleyball team. In December, Brianna will attend the Major League Winter Meetings to learn more about the sports business world. “I’m very excited and honored to win this prestigious award. I love to learn and will continue to work hard and push myself to become the best I can in the business world, representing women everywhere.”
Tong Yu, Wuahn Hebei, China – Tong is pursuing her BS in Management. A member of the Honors Program, she works as a student tutor in the Learning Center and interns at the Post Campus Store. When she is not studying, Tong volunteers at a local nursing home. Passionate and spirited, she hopes to bring her skills back home to China after graduation to open her own coffee shop.
