Post University Blog

This month we are highlighting influential women at Post University in honor of Women’s History Month. Read more at Women of Post.

Jenna Abeyta

Freshman Jenna Abeyta excited the Post University faithful this season. She set a new school record for most goals scored in a women’s ice hockey game during a game against Alvernia in early January.  Abeyta scored four goals, leading Post to defeat Alvernia 5-2.

Because of her actions on the ice and in the classroom, we recognize her as a Woman of Post.  Read about who is her role model, and through sports participation young girls gain confidence and courage to become leaders of tomorrow.

  • Why do you think it is important for females to be represented in your respective field or in education?

You hear a lot about men being successful, which is important, but in a more male-dominant field, to hear or see a woman who is successful inspires and shows other women and young girls that succeeding is possible.

  • Who was a female role model for you growing up or currently?

My mom because she always taught and showed me how to be the hardest worker in a group, and how to persevere through rough times while keeping a good attitude. She taught me to never give up.

  • Do you have a favorite memory from your time at Post?

All the friendships I have made, playing hockey with my teammates and all the hard work it took to be the best student-athlete I can be.
