This MBA program uses project-based learning—an educational approach featuring real-world projects—to give you the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations for hands-on experience in solving complex business problems. It is designed to help you develop the critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills used in the business world. The curriculum also offers the learning opportunities you could use to refine your skills for creativity, innovation, ethics, and quantitative reasoning.

Core coursework for the program covers what it takes to strengthen your understanding of key areas of business, from organizational management to strategic planning. From there, you will customize your MBA to your goals with your selection of one of 10 concentrations. Your options include Corporate Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Healthcare Systems Leadership, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Marketing, Multidisciplinary, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management.

Corporate Innovation

Our corporate innovation concentration is designed to offer the opportunity to build skills in leading and managing change and complexity in organizations. It covers what it takes to foster conditions that create and unleash innovation in organizations while applying financial tools to manage the innovation process.

Finance

This concentration provides specialized knowledge and applied skills for the management of finance, analysis of financial statements, creation and management of financial portfolios, and a working knowledge of the impact of public policy on the application of financial principles.

Entrepreneurship

The entrepreneurship concentration courses offer the opportunity to explore what it takes to create and manage new business ventures, develop new products and services, write business plans, and buy and sell businesses. Coursework covers how to apply entrepreneurial skills to corporate entrepreneurship.

Healthcare Systems Leadership

This concentration offers the opportunity to develop an understanding of the interrelatedness of clinical, technological, and financial components of the business of healthcare. It introduces the dynamic nature of broad system change, the need for fundamentally different leadership that integrates innovation, collaboration, and effective communication, and the expectation that quality and person-centeredness are not add-ons but are, ultimately, at the core of the work.

Human Resource Management

This concentration offers insights and skill-building opportunities students could use to become practitioners in human resources or become more effective leaders. Coursework covers analyzing trends in human resource management practice, employing human resource strategic planning, describing the impact of legislation on human resource management functions, examining issues facing different diverse groups, and evaluating the differing change management models.

Leadership - Available On Campus and Online

This concentration provides the learning opportunities students could use to develop specialized knowledge and applied skills to better lead or manage change and complexity in organizations. Coursework covers how to apply ethical values, beliefs, and behaviors in making decisions for a socially responsible organization. Students are also encouraged to explore and discover the leader within through the study of academic models and assessments.

Marketing

This concentration covers skills in writing integrated communication and marketing plans. Students are encouraged to explore new strategies for targeting consumers based on buying motivations, discover how to use marketing research, technology, and analytics to quantify marketing results, and gain insight into managing brand initiatives.

Multidisciplinary

This is a tailored program that builds on courses from all other MBA concentrations, offering students more flexibility to customize their educations based on specific career goals.

Project Management

Modern product development often offers complexities that require strong technical knowledge in project management as well as leadership skills. This concentration explores what it takes to lead project teams, define and manage project risk, use project management systems, and assess project scope, schedule, and cost to produce a high-quality product or service on time and to the specifications of the client.

Small and Medium Business Enterprise — Campus Only

With coursework in economic analysis, disciplined entrepreneurship, and business strategy, this concentration explores what it takes to build a business from the ground up. Topics include how to test business plans for viability and profitability, pricing strategies, analytics, decision-making, emerging business practices, and more.

 

Supply Chain Management

Courses in this concentration explore the tools used to understand supply chain and logistics. Coursework covers the integration of supply chain management to manufacturing operations, planning supply chain operations and the impact of AI (artificial intelligence), logistics operations models, global sourcing and procurement practices, warehouse and transportation planning methods, Lean methods in supply chain planning, intricacies of international trade, and supply chain management and logistics trends.

Yes! In fact, Post University offers the Master of Business Administration program both on our main campus and online. (And if you decide to come to Post to pursue your online MBA, no GMAT testing is required to start your program.)

What is the structure of the MBA program?

Students in the MBA program complete a core curriculum and then select one of the following areas of concentration: Corporate Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Healthcare Systems Leadership, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Marketing, Multidisciplinary, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management. The program culminates in a capstone course.

What does an MBA course include?

What is the prerequisite for an MBA?

The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business feels strongly that students possessing real-world experience elevate course and program dialogue and lead to a more meaningful learning experience. The MBA program requires three years of relevant experience. Relevant experience encompasses anything from part- or full-time employment to internships, research projects, and publications. 

A student with a Bachelor of Science in a non-business field must take BUS502 Business Essentials or four undergraduate prerequisite courses – ACC111, ECO201, FIN201, and LAW204. Students with a Bachelor of Science in a business field receive a waiver for BUS502. Please contact a graduate admissions advisor for details.

Note: Applicants with less work experience but otherwise exceptional applications will be considered for admission.

How long does it take to get an MBA?

The normal time to complete an MBA degree is 24 months.
