Meet Our Valedictorians

We turned the University blog over to our two 2024 Valedictorians. These outstanding and well-rounded students embody an impressive breadth of knowledge and pride of personal character. Each has the highest grade point average in their class. Before they venture off into the world, each took a moment to offer a message of inspiration to their classmates as well as reflect upon their time at the University.

  • What are you considering writing about for your speech?

I am planning to write a motivational speech that will also touch upon some of my experiences at Post. Additionally, I will explain how I got this far in my academic journey at such a young age. Lastly, I will include several of my favorite inspirational quotes.

  • What are some of your most memorable highlights from your experience at Post?

One of my most memorable highlights from my time at Post has to be playing on Post’s esports team. Having the opportunity to play alongside such amazing people and with an incredible coach has been an absolute dream. Additionally, all of my professors have been helpful and patient, and many of them have reached out to me with positive and encouraging feedback and praise.

  • What advice would you give to current or future students?

First of all, I would strongly advise current and future students to read their readings and resources thoroughly each week. Second, I would recommend that they try to be as professional as possible when writing discussion boards and essays. Lastly, I would advise students to not shy away from reaching out to their professors if they have any questions or need some assistance with something.

  • Who has had the biggest impact on your life during your college career? In your life?

In my personal life, my mother has had the biggest impact on me. She was an excellent example of someone who manages their time wisely and who remains perseverant no matter what obstacles lie in the way of the goal. In my collegiate journey, the person who influenced me the most is Coach Denny from the esports program. He taught me how to have a growth mindset, to remain calm and stay focused under pressure, and to never give up on my dreams. Finally, my academic advisor Liz Wilson also had a great impact on my college life because she was always there and championing for me.

  • What’s next?

At this time, because I am only 17 years old, I am uncertain what I would like to do moving forward. One option is to find a job in my local community. Another option is to continue on with Post for my master’s degree in Education.
