Meet Our Valedictorians

We turned the University blog over to our two 2024 Valedictorians. These outstanding and well-rounded students embody an impressive breadth of knowledge and pride of personal character. Each has the highest grade point average in their class. Before they venture off into the world, each took a moment to offer a message of inspiration to their classmates as well as reflect upon their time at the University.

What are you considering writing about for your speech?

I would like to take this opportunity to share my experience as an international student-athlete at Post University and illustrate how this enriching life experience can profoundly shape one’s future. I have always viewed college as an adventure that fosters professional and personal growth, and indeed, it has been precisely that. Reflecting on my journey thus far, I can discern the myriad ways in which I have evolved, both personally and professionally, as a result of this experience. I am deeply grateful for the invaluable lessons and experiences that have left an indelible mark on me and will continue to accompany me throughout my life.

A central theme of my speech is the importance of embracing the present and navigating through challenges without succumbing to fear. Often, we become overly fixated on our ultimate objectives, overlooking the significance of savoring the moments that can never be reclaimed. Life is fleeting, and unless we learn to relish the entirety of our journey, including its inevitable obstacles, we risk falling short of our aspirations.

What are some of your most memorable highlights from your experience at Post?

Sports have always been an integral part of my life, imparting invaluable lessons along the way. Many of the most memorable moments at Post University revolve around my experiences as an athlete with the men’s soccer team. Over the course of three years, I had the privilege of clinching three CACC regular-season titles and three CACC championships alongside my teammates. Additionally, we made three appearances in the NCAA national finals, reaching the Sweet 16 twice.

These remarkable achievements, coupled with the dedication and hard work invested to attain them, are memories that will forever be etched in my mind. Winning our first championship was particularly poignant, as it reinforced the notion that with diligent effort and unwavering belief in one’s pursuits, great satisfaction can be attained. This sentiment encapsulates the essence of my speech.

What advice would you give to current or future students?

Embrace the present moment and cherish the experiences it brings. Time flies, and before you know it, you’ll be standing on stage, receiving your diploma. Cultivate curiosity and challenge yourself to step outside your comfort zone, unfazed by the obstacles you may face. By doing so, you’ll achieve the satisfaction that fosters personal growth and happiness, enabling you to evolve into a better version of yourself.

Who has had the biggest impact on your life during your college career? In your life?

The influence of my family, particularly my parents, has been profound in shaping my character and guiding me through challenges; sometimes, being over 4000 miles away from home (or 6000 km for my International friends) is not easy, but their values and examples have served as a compass, providing strength and resilience during difficult times, instilling in me the determination to persevere.

Furthermore, the beauty of this experience lies in the diversity and openness it fosters. Interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds has enriched my journey profoundly. Each person I’ve encountered has imparted valuable lessons, contributing to my growth and inspiring me. Although separated by distance, specific individuals have remained constant sources of motivation in my thoughts and heart, driving me forward even in their absence.

What’s next?

Next year, I’m pursing my MBA with a STEM concentration in Financial Analysis. I will continue my student-athlete experience for another year.

After we will see, I want to continue to grow as a person, travel around the world, and learn to appreciate the adventure of life.
