Frequently Asked Questions
Before I arrive, what do I need to do, and what do I need to bring?
We want your visit to be smooth and meaningful. Here’s how to prepare:
- Bring a valid photo ID for parking/entry
- Wear comfortable shoes – we’ll walk the 58-acre campus
- Prepare questions: academics, student life, online vs on-campus, financing
- If online-visiting: test your webcam/audio ahead of time
- Bring transcripts (if you’d like to talk transfer credit)
- Check weather: we tour rain or shine; in severe weather, we’ll notify you
How long is the campus tour?
Typically 60–90 minutes. Arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. The tour covers a welcome session, campus walk, information block, and Q&A
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes. Please use the “Schedule Your Visit” button and select your day/time. Walk-ins are subject to availability.
Where should I park, and is parking free?
Parking is free for visitors. Use the Visitors Lot or North Lot and check in at the Admissions front desk.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing works best; campus walking is involved. For virtual visits, dress professionally as you would attend a meeting.
Will I meet with admissions, financial aid, or a faculty member?
Yes. Each on-campus visit includes meetings with admissions and financial-aid advisors. Faculty meet-ups can be scheduled in advance for program-specific tours.
Will the tour take place if it rains or snows?
Yes — we conduct tours in most weather. In case of severe conditions we will notify you via the email you provided.
Can I bring family members or guests?
Absolutely. You are welcome to bring up to 2 additional guests (parents/guardians/family). For larger groups, contact us to coordinate a group visit.
Is there a virtual tour if I can’t come to campus?
Yes. Use the “Schedule a Virtual Tour” option — live, guided, and interactive from your location.
Are accommodations available for students with disabilities?
Yes. Please contact Disability Services at least 3 business days ahead, and we will ensure an accessible tour route and accommodations.
What lodging is available for out-of-town visitors?
Waterbury, Connecticut and surrounding areas offer several options for lodging during your visit. Please see our recommendations on the Maps & Directions page.
