The legal field is rapidly evolving. It’s becoming exponentially more sophisticated, specialized and international. Paralegals have always been in great demand, but the opportunities have never been more diverse and exciting.
With our Certificate in Paralegal Studies, you’ll learn to assist with legal research, prepare legal documents, and even interview clients. When you earn your certificate, you’ll be qualified to work under the direction of an attorney or in a large firm. Start your career path working with banks, insurance companies, real estate companies, private and corporate law offices, as well as local, state, and federal government legal departments.
In our Paralegal Studies Certificate program, you’ll:
Learn practical skills in a highly interactive environment, either online or on campus
Understand the inner workings of civil litigation, real estate closings, and probate practice
Begin as a legal assistant in a variety of law firms, corporate legal departments, the court system, government agencies, private industry and more
There is no prerequisite for the Certificate in Paralegal Studies program.
Students pursuing a Certificate in Paralegal Studies learn skills specific to practical work as a paralegal, becoming knowledgeable in summarizing depositions, legal research, preparing legal documents, and interviewing clients. Through coursework, students learn the inner workings of civil litigation, real estate closings, and probate practice. Students also have an introductory course and two additional survey courses in Business Law.
Entry-level careers as Paralegals and Legal Assistants may be available for students in a variety of law firms, corporate legal departments, the court system, government agencies, non-profits, and private industry.
