NEEBC Scholarship Program

Award Amount: $3,000

The NEEBC’s Scholarship Program was established to “advance the knowledge and education of individuals in the employee benefits field, or those aspiring to careers in employee benefits.”  Part-time or full-time undergraduate students and graduate students studying in an accredited academic program residing either in New England or enrolled in an institution in New England who demonstrate an interest in a career in the employee benefits field are eligible to apply.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

New England Employee Benefits Council Scholarship

Deadline: April 1, 2021
Award Amount: $5,000

The New England Employee Benefits Council (NEBC) strives “to further the aims of the Council to advance the knowledge and education of individuals in the employee benefits field, or those aspiring to careers in employee benefits.” Applicants must be a full-time or part-time college student (undergraduate or graduate), studying in an accredited academic program leading to a degree and residing either in New England or enrolled in a college in New England.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Naugatuck Valley Medical Scholarship Fund

Deadline: April 1, 2021
Award Amount: Various

The Naugatuck Valley Medical Scholarship is a fund “dedicated to financially assisting graduating high school students who plan to major in a medical or biomedical field.”  Applicants must reside “in the lower Naugatuck Valley area of Connecticut, which is made up of the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, Shelton, Oxford, and Beacon Falls” and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Richard E. Taber Citizenship Award Scholarship

Deadline: April 1, 2021
Award Amount: $5,000

The Richard E. Taber Citizenship Award Scholarship honors high school students living in the Fairfield County that “consistently demonstrate good citizenship at school, at home, and in the community.”  The scholarship is designed to “recognize and encourage young people who are honest, hard-working, helpful and fair.” Applicants must hold a “B” average or higher during his or her junior and senior years in high school.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Jewish Community Foundation

Deadline: April 15, 2021
Award Amount: $1,000 – $3,000

The Jewish Community Foundation Scholarship is a “need-based financial assistance to Jewish students for college and graduate school education, including tuition, fees, room and board.”  Applicants must be accepted or currently enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States, current residents of the Greater Hartford area, and U.S. citizens. Applicants must be Jewish (with the exception of the Wall, Goldfarb and Rosenblatt Scholarships).”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Edwards Lifesciences Foundation Scholarship Program

Deadline: April 20, 2021
Award Amount: $2,500

The Edwards Lifesciences Foundation Scholarship program is offered to high school seniors from Orange County, California, Salt Lake County, Utah, or Puerto Rico who are pursuing bachelor’s degrees in STEM fields.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need, be US citizens or permanent residents, and have a 3.0 GPA.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

EPOC Environmental Scholarship Fund

The Environmental Professionals Organization of Connecticut (EPOC) Environmental Scholarship Fund was established to assist qualified applicants who “have declared majors pertinent to the environmental field.”  Scholarships are awarded annually to junior, senior, and graduate level students (full or part-time) enrolled in accepted programs of study leading the student to become a Technical Environmental Professional in the State of Connecticut as defined by the CT DEEP, or a professional in a related service discipline who may render technical assistance to the Technical Environmental Professional.”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Support Creativity World Scholarship is for (but not limited to) “passionate designers, animators, editors, photographers, artists, illustrators, and painters, who wish to develop their skills at higher education institutions in the New York area (NY, NJ, CT, or PA).” Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, be a Dreamer, and can either be an undergraduate or graduate. Alice L. Haltom Education Fund Scholarship

The Alice L. Ashtabula County Agricultural Scholarship Fund

Carrington-Philbert U.S. Undergraduate Scholarship

Denes & Agota Bardos Award

The Denes and Agota Bardos Award is “given to students in recognition for achievement in their community and in science, engineering, or the arts.”  Applicants must be first or second generation immigrants currently residing in the United States who are students in their final year of high school or students enrolled in a college degree program within the past 6 months.  See award limitations on the website.

The Healy Foundation Scholarship

“The Healy Foundation seeks to step in and give under-resourced, high-performing college juniors and seniors the financial means to finish their education at a time when unexpected personal hardship jeopardizes their academic aspirations.”  The scholarship is both financial need-based and merit-based. Rising or current college junior or senior at an accredited four-year university or college who have a minimum 3.0 GPA may apply. Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity

Deadline: May 3, 2021
Award Amount: Up to $20,000 (over 4 years)

The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity is not a “traditional scholarship focused on rewarding academic achievement and financial need.” The goal is to reward and encourage innovative and creative problem solving and “aims to honor students who excel as creative problem-solvers….” Eligible applicants must be a high school junior or senior, entering an undergraduate degree program in the fall or in the first year of an undergraduate degree program.  Applicants must be a Connecticut or New York City metropolitan area resident planning to attend or attending an institution of higher education in the U.S., or a resident of the U.S. planning to attend or attending an institution of higher education in CT or NYC. Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

Deadline: May 3, 2021 for New Applications
Award Amount: Various

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for students ‘enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) and pursuing a bachelor’s degree for the first time.’ Applicants must be a United States citizen or noncitizen who has a current lawful presence in the United States and a work permit, permanent resident of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Dairy Management, Inc. Scholarship Program

Deadline: May 7, 2021
Award Amount: $2500

The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB), through Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), annually awards up to eleven $2,500 scholarships to eligible undergraduate students (sophomore through senior) enrolled in college/university programs that emphasize dairy.  “Majors include: communications/public relations, journalism, marketing, business, economics, nutrition, food science, and Ag education.”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Couch Oil Cares Scholarship

The Couch Oil Cares Scholarship Program is “an effort to help local students with the costs of higher education. FMAA Educational Scholarship Program

Award Amount: $2,000

The Flag Manufacturers Association of America (FMAA) offers this scholarship to help eligible applicants attain their educational goals. ARMA International Educational Foundation Graduate Scholarship

The ARMA International Educational Foundation Graduate Scholarship awards “are designed to cover costs associated with earning an Associates, Bachelors, or Graduate-level degree in the field of Information Management.”  The Foundation intends to award scholarships of up to $3000 for Graduate level and up to $1000 for under-graduate level applicants. Helen Gee Chin Scholarship

The Helen Gee Chin Scholarship is open to students who “plan to enroll full-time as an undergraduate at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university and meet the minimum eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, five or more years of study in Chinese Martial Arts (Kung Fu, Wu Shu, or Tai Chi), and a “B” average grade or better. PRCUA Education Scholarship Program

Deadline: June 1, 2021
Award Amount: $500-$2,000

The PRCUA Education Scholarship Program provides “financial assistance to students to earn undergraduate, graduate or professional degrees.”  Applicants must have successfully completed their freshman year of undergraduate studies before the deadline for filing an application. Eligible applicants consist of sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled full-time in undergraduate study or those students enrolled in graduate or professional degree program. “Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or 4.0 or better on a 5.0 scale.”  Applicants must be either citizens of the United States or permanent residents.  Students are not required to be members of the PRCUA.

Ted Rollins Eco Scholarship

Deadline: June 1, 2021
Award Amount: $1,000

Ted Rollins Eco Scholarship is awarded twice each year to “one talented student who is majoring in a field related to sustainability.”  High school seniors and college undergraduate students who “major/plan to major in a field related to sustainability and plan to take at least 10 credit hours in the fall semester of the current year are eligible to apply.”

Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,500-$3,500

The Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship was “established by Peggy Traub and Phyllis Dicker to encourage and support lesbian women in their pursuit of higher education.”  Eligible applicants include those graduating high school or already enrolled in college in any year of study, including graduate school.

Out To Innovate Scholarships

Deadline: June 5, 2021
Award Amount: Various

The Out To Innovate Scholarships for LGBTQ STEM is “intended for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) programs who are either lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or an active ally of the LGBTQ community.”   One scholarship will go to an undergraduate student, and one will go to a graduate/professional level student. Applicants must have “successfully completed a minimum of two years of post-high school education, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, a declared major in an accredited STEM or STEM-related teaching field, and be an active supporter of and participant in programs or organizations that promote LGBTQ inclusion and visibility.”

The Howard L. David Womack Memorial Alabama LGBT Scholarship

The David Womack Memorial Alabama LGBT Scholarship application is “available to any lesbian or gay undergrad student from the state of Alabama.”  An essay, no more than five pages, discussing “the applicants background, educational history, goals for the future and why the applicant believes he or she should receive the scholarship” is required.

Groundbreaker Leadership Scholarship

The Against The Grain Groundbreaker Leadership Scholarship provides “financial assistance and promotion of Asian American college seniors and graduate students who have exhibited exemplary leadership, vision, and passion that is blazing a trail for others to follow and changing lives in the Asian American community.”  Applicants must be of at least 25% Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity, and must be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Korean American Scholarship Foundation-Northeastern Regional Chapter, awards scholarships to applicants of Korean ancestry.  Applicants must “demonstrate financial need, have a 3.0 GPA, and be a full-time student at a school in one of the designated Northeastern region states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont) during the upcoming school year.”

Strong Work Ethic Scholarship

The BK Law Group is accepting applications for The Strong Work Ethic Scholarship.  The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, college student or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is enrolled in a two to five year post-secondary institution for the 2021 Fall semester.  Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.

The Chairish ‘Design Your Future’ Scholarship

Deadline: June 30, 2021
Award Amount: $2,500

The Chairish ‘Design Your Future’ Scholarship is designed to support students from “diverse backgrounds and students who are majoring in design-related fields such as architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and engineering fields.” Graduating high school seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate students of any major are encouraged to apply.  A minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA is required.

The American Casting and Manufacturing Scholarship

Deadline: July 1, 2021
Award Amount: $500

The American Casting & Manufacturing Scholarship is a $500-dollar scholarship awarded twice per year, during the Fall and Spring semesters. This scholarship is “open to applicants with any major, awarding those based on writing capabilities and academic achievement.”  Applicants must be a College Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student who is currently enrolled full-time with a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Zimmerman Law Firm Scholarship

Deadline: August 1, 2021
Award Amount: $1,500

The Zimmerman Law Firm Scholarship is pleased to “recognize and support those who have been affected by an auto accident.”  Applicants must have “sustained injuries from an auto accident.”  All candidates must submit a “750 – 1,000-word essay response to the prompt: Tell BK Law about a specific time in your life where you utilized your strong work ethic.”  Applications are open to first-year college students, graduate students, high school students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools.

Alma Exley Scholarship Program

Deadline: October 31, 2021
Award Amount: Up to $5,000

The Alma Exley Scholarship Program awards one scholarship annually “to a person of color who is enrolled in a teacher-preparation program….” Eligible applicants “include African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans.” Students may apply after having been admitted into a teacher-preparation program in Connecticut. Applicants may be in their junior or senior year or pursuing a master’s degree.
