Acorn Scholarship

Central Illinois Friends Scholarship

Korty & Morton Scholarship

NSHSS Collegiate Council Leadership Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000

The NSHSS Collegiate Council Leadership Scholarship is available for NSHSS Members with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, who “demonstrate specific ways in which they have represented NSHSS and helped to build a positive global community.” Applicants should be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate school at the college level.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

NSHSS wants to know…”Do you have a passion for bringing about social, political, and/or civil change in your community? Does a particular cause or idea have your attention? NSHSS Innovation in Technology Scholarship

AfterCollege/AACN Scholarship Fund

Deadline: September 30, 2022
Award Amount: $2,500

The AfterCollege-AACN Scholarship Fund supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. “Special consideration will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator; students completing an RN-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program; and those enrolled in an accelerated program.”

Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program

Deadline: September 30, 2022
Award Amount: $2,500

The Creative Biolabs seeks to “further support their research and higher education in the medical and science-related fields” by offering the Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program.  This scholarship is open to freshman, undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. students on a global basis. To be eligible to receive a scholarship, you must “major in a science-related field such as Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Molecular Biology” and have a GPA of 3.0.

Make a Difference Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2022
Award Amount: $1,000

The Make a Difference Scholarship is offered to any student currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States. This includes incoming first-year college students who are high school graduates or possess a GED. “The scholarship candidate must be interested in making a difference in the community, as demonstrated by past and present volunteer, professional, and educational experiences.” All eligible candidates must be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

True Impact of Injury Scholarship

The True Impact Of Injury Scholarship is open to legal US residents who are current high school seniors, college students, or graduate students enrolled in a two to five-year post-secondary institution. Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Academic Nursing Scholarship

Save a Life Scholarship

Deadline: October 1, 2022
Award Amount: $1,500

The Save a Live Scholarship is open to any student currently enrolled in, or applying to enroll within the next academic year, in a degree program in the fields of healthcare or education.  In addition to the application, students must submit an essay between 750 and 1,000 words “explaining your career aspirations, how you plan to advance healthcare and/or education through your work, and what inspired you to commit yourself to this field.”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Students With A Heart Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: October 1, 2022
Award Amount: $500 – $6,000

The mission of Students with Heart Foundation is to “provide financial assistance by means of scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students who suffer from all different types of heart disease and deformities, thus relieving some of the stress from the rough and rigorous journey they will face throughout college.”  Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at least part-time, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and submit a personal statement of no more than 2,000 words and no less than 500 words, “describing what obstacles they have had to overcome due to their cardiac disease or deformities.”

Bill Kane Undergraduate Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000

SHAPE America is accepting applications for the Bill Kane Undergraduate Scholarch program.  The award is open to any student officially recognized as an undergraduate health education major at an accredited college/university in the United States or a U.S. territory.  Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time for both the fall and spring semesters of the academic year during which the student is applying. Eligible applicants include sophomores, juniors or seniors with a current overall GPA of 3.25.

GetEducated.com Distance Learning Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000

The GetEducated.com Distance Learning Scholarship is open students who are a U.S. citizen enrolled in an accredited online degree program located in the USA with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  In addition to the scholarship application, students must submit a 500-word essay on “What an Online College Degree Means to Me”, attach a copy of their most recent grade transcript, and attach a copy of your most recent FAFSA (or your 1040 tax return).  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

John Lewis Good Trouble Scholarship

SchoolHouse Connection Youth Leadership and Scholarship Program

Deadline: October 15, 2022
Award Amount: $2,000

The SchoolHouse Connection Youth Leadership and Scholarship Program is open to students currently residing in the United States (undocumented applicants are eligible), students born on or after October 15, 2002.  Applicants must begin college for the first time in 2023 and have experienced homelessness in the last six years.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Good Samaritan Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: October 20, 2022
Award Amount: $1,000

The mission of the Good Samaritan Foundation (GSF) is to “promote nursing as a career by providing scholarship funds directly to student nurses for their clinical nursing courses.”  Students must be in good standing with their school of nursing and must submit a complete application.  The application period begins September 20, 2022.  See additional requirements and scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Dechtman Wealth Management Scholarship “is designed to help students receive a quality education so they can better their lives, as well as their communities.” The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students currently enrolled in a two- or four-year accredited, regardless of major or area of study.

Alma Exley Scholarship Program

Award Amount: up to $5,000

The Alma Exley Scholarship Program awards one scholarship annually “to a person of color who is enrolled in a teacher-preparation program….” Eligible applicants “include African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans.” Students may apply after having been admitted into a teacher-preparation program in Connecticut. Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: October 31, 2022
Award Amount: $3,000

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship “creates opportunities for family members of service members and Veterans to achieve their educational dreams.”  To qualify for the “scholarship program, applicants must meet one of the following conditions:

The applicant is a veteran with 100% service connected disability

The applicant is a surviving spouse of a deceased service member from a service-related death

The applicant is a surviving child of a deceased service member from a service-related death”

The Frank J. Vigilante Scholarship is open to students of “Italian extraction, demonstrate financial need, and must have high academic achievement.” Students must have a demonstrated financial need for their education and must have proof of being admitted to and/or enrolled at an accredited institution of higher education.  Applicants must submit an essay detailing “why the Frank J. American Indian Services Scholarships

Award Amount: $500 – $2,000

ACES Scholarship Program

Applicants must be students enrolled at a college/university as juniors, seniors, or graduate students during the summer and/or fall term in 2021. “Scholarships are awarded without regard to the student’s major or field of academic concentration” and to students who “excel in critical thinking about written materials in any field.”

Armenian American Medical Society Scholarship

Award Amount: $2,500

Armenian American Medical Society Scholarships are awarded to students who are of Armenian Descent or demonstrated a special interest in Armenian medical causes and who participate in Armenian community service. The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards

The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards “assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.”  Applicants must be enrolled in or have been accepted to an undergraduate degree program, and not yet have a graduate degree.

The UCT Scholarship Program

The UCT Scholarship Program, funded by UCT Charities, provides scholarships to “students and teachers seeking college degrees or certification to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be a teacher of students with intellectual disabilities who needs extra course work to be certified/retain certification; be an experienced teacher who wishes to become certified to teach students with intellectual disabilities; be a college junior or senior whose undergraduate course of study is in special education, focusing on teaching people with intellectual disabilities; currently enrolled in courses to become a certified instructor for people with intellectual disabilities; or, be in the second year of a two-year associate’s degree program at an accredited school with the course of study focusing on teaching people with intellectual disabilities.”  Applicants must demonstrate financial need.  See Scholarship award limitations on the website.

Peter K. New Award

Deadline: November 30, 2022
Award Amount: $500-$2,000

The Peter K. New Award is an “annual student research competition in the applied social and behavioral sciences.”  The award will be given to the best paper which “reports on an applied research project in the social/behavioral sciences. The research question should be in the domain of health care or human services (broadly construed).”  Applicants must be registered as a student at the graduate or undergraduate level in a college or university during the most recent calendar year and not have a previously earned doctoral degree.

The American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award Program (AINS) was started by the NSCDA in 1928 “to give students of American Indian descent the opportunity to pursue careers in nursing. Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers

The AvaCare Scholarship is open to students who are a citizen of the United States or in possession of an Alien Registration Card, high school senior or enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university, have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and are pursuing a degree in the medical field such as therapy, nursing, medicine, nutrition, laboratory science, dentistry, health law, etc.  Although all students with the above criteria are welcome to apply for this scholarship, preference will be given to students with a physical disability.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Medical Scrubs Collection Scholarship

The Medical Scrubs Collection Scholarship is “dedicated to recognizing the individuals who go above and beyond to help others every day. To show our appreciation for these hard working individuals, MSC has decided to Pay it Forward by creating an annual scholarship opportunity for students studying in any health or medical-related field. The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship “supports the education of students who have an interest in pursuing a career in fraud examination. Michael Moddy Fitness Scholarship

The Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship is a college scholarship of $1,500 awarded to a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, participation and leadership in school activities and work experience, and interest in pursuing a career in the health and fitness related fields. The student may apply and use the money for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. Fathers for Scholars (F4S) is designed to “support young fathers who never benefited from the enrichment of a male role model in the home while growing up.”  Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Fathers with a “desire to be or are already actively engaged in parenting.”  Scholarship awards can be used for enrollment, tuition, or books and supplies.

Hope for Healing Scholarship

The Hope for Healing Scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate and one graduate student each year.  The purpose of this scholarship is to “encourage more of America’s best and brightest to pursue a vocation in the field of addiction and mental health.”  Applicants must currently be enrolled in a degree program in mental/behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Mahoney Family Foundation Scholarship

The Mahoney Family Foundation is a organization “created to support the ongoing education and training of those in the Nursing and Teaching professions through scholarship programs.”  Grants of up to $5,000 per individual are designed to “help offset the financial burden of required Continuing Education Units or Advanced Degrees incurred by our Nurses and Teachers.”  Eligible applicants must be currently employed as a licensed full-time Nurse or Teacher with at least 3 years’ experience, currently enrolled in a college or university with classes scheduled and must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.

The Triadex Services Scholarship Program is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors and/or current college students each year. “Students are recognized for their dedication to learning marketing and business methodologies, their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.”  Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university OR a high school senior attending school in the United States anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application, be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident, Refugee, Cuban-Haitian Entrant, or Humanitarian Parolee.  Students must be pursuing or planning to pursue a four-year degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution in marketing, business, technology or entrepreneurship, and have a minimum GPA of 3.3.
