November 2021 Deadlines

Sharps Compliance, Inc. Scholarship Essay Contest

Deadline: November 29, 2021
Award Amount: $750 – $1,500

The Sharps’ essay contest is open to all students who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in an accredited university in healthcare related studies. Andrew Flusche Scholarship

Deadline: November 30, 2021
Award Amount: $500

The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest “requires students to raise awareness about different legal issues. Applicants must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) about how to share the road with pedestrians and bicyclists.”  Eligible applicants include undergraduate and graduate students.  See Scholarship award limitations on the website.

Emery Reddy Legal Studies Scholarship

Deadline: November 30, 2021
Award Amount: $2,500

The Emery Reddy Legal Studies Scholarship is open to all applicants who are attending or accepted into an accredited college or university within the United States.  Applicants are required to write a 250-500 word essay on “why they are pursuing a career in legal studies and/or why they are interested in the legal field.”

Peter K. New Award

Deadline: November 30, 2021
Award Amount: $500 – $2,000

The Peter K. New Award is an “annual student research competition in the applied social and behavioral sciences.”  The award will be given to the best paper which “reports on an applied research project in the social/behavioral sciences. The research question should be in the domain of health care or human services (broadly construed).”  Applicants must be registered as a student at the graduate or undergraduate level in a college or university during the most recent calendar year and not have a previously-earned doctoral degree.

Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers

Deadline: December 1, 2021
Award Amount: $2,000

The Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers is open to “undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs are eligible.”  Applicants must declare their intent to “prepare for, and engage in, a career in physics teaching at the high school level….”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law Team Education Scholarships

Deadline: December 1, 2021
Award Amount: $1,000

Each year, the Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law Team awards two scholarships to “innovative and highly creative high school and college students.” Lamber-Goodnow Law Team seeks to award scholarship to students “who are creative thinkers and problem solvers.” Students must be enrolled at an accredited college or university and have a minimum GPA of 2.8.

Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law Team Nursing Scholarships

PixelPlex Bi-Annual STEM Scholarship

Award Amount: $2,000

The PixelPlex Bi-Annual STEM Scholarship will be awarded to the “qualified candidate who writes the most compelling essay on one of the following prompts: Blockchain; Artificial Intelligence; Internet of Things; Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality.”  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States with a field of study related to science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), economics, or business.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Generation Google Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000

The Generation Google Scholarship was established to “help aspiring students pursuing computer science degrees excel in technology and become leaders in the field.”  Applicants must intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program at an accredited university or college in the United States or Canada for the 2022-2023 academic year.  Applicants must be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field, demonstrate a strong academic record, financial need, and exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for improving representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Advancing Nurse Leadership in Post-Acute Care Scholarship

Award Amount: $5,000

Raftelis Leadership Scholarships

Deadline: December 20, 2021
Award Amount: $5,000

The Raftelis Leadership Scholarships was established with the goal of “supporting and growing relationships with promising students who have an interest in becoming problem solvers for local governments and municipal water utilities.”  The ideal scholarship candidate should have an interest in a consulting career. CastleBranch-GNSA Scholarship

Award Amount: $2,500

The CastleBranch-GNSA Scholarship is open to students enrolled in a graduate nursing program at an AACN member school of nursing. Students must have at least a 3.5 GPA and be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Applicants must write an essay (500-word maximum) “expressing how they have contributed to the nursing profession through innovation, leadership, and/or peer mentoring.”

AfterCollege/AACN Scholarship Fund

Award Amount: $2,500

The AfterCollege-AACN Scholarship Fund supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. “Special consideration will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator; students completing an RN-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program; and those enrolled in an accelerated program.”

ASD Ascend 2022 Autism College Scholarships

Deadline: December 31, 2021
Award Amount: $1,000

The ASD Ascend 2022 Autism College Scholarships are open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors enrolled in a college in the United States who have autism and are pursuing either an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree. The Law Offices of Daniel Kim Scholarship

Deadline: December 31, 2021
Award Amount: $5,000

The Law Offices of Daniel Kim “represents victims of motor vehicle accidents and fights to ensure they receive the compensation they deserve.” This $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to one qualified student who is currently attending or are planning to attend college or graduate school in 2022.”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Deadline: January 1, 2022
Award Amount: $2,500

The Hurst Review AACN Nursing Scholarship is open to students maintaining at least a 3.2 GPA in their current program or at the last school attended. Students must be admitted or enrolled in an entry-level baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program at an AACN member institution.

The Chairish ‘Design Your Future’ Scholarship

Deadline: January 1, 2022
Award Amount: $2,500

The Chairish ‘Design Your Future’ Scholarship is designed to support students from “diverse backgrounds and students who are majoring in design-related fields such as architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and engineering fields.” Graduating high school seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate students of any major are encouraged to apply.  A minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA is required.

James F. Reville Scholarship Application

Deadline: January 7, 2022
Award Amount: $3,000

The James F. Reville Scholarship is presented to an individual who “intends to pursue a career related to the field of intellectual or other developmental disabilities such as behavioral sciences, social work, nursing, healthcare administration and management or psychology.”  Student must be a New York State resident, be enrolled full-time in any year of their college education, and training in a field related to intellectual or other developmental disabilities.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Geraldine "Polly" Bednash Scholarship

Award Amount: Up to $5,000

The Geraldine “Polly” Bednash Scholarship is available to students with at least a 3.2 GPA, who have been admitted to or enrolled in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program at an AACN member institution affiliated with CastleBranch.”

February 2022 Deadlines

Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

Deadline: February 1, 2022 – Renewal Application, May 2, 2022 – New Application for College Students
Award Amount: Various

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for students ‘enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) and pursuing a bachelor’s degree for the first time.’ Applicants must be a United States citizen or noncitizen who has a current lawful presence in the United States and a work permit, permanent resident of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The Roothbert Fund Scholarship

$5,000-$7,000 (per year)

The Roothbert Fund Scholarship aims “to help men and women in need of financial aid to further their education.”  The Fund “seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values.”  Preference will be given to undergraduate and graduate students who have completed at least 1 year of study, who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education. Hope for Healing Scholarship

The Hope for Healing Scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate and one graduate student each year.  The purpose of this scholarship is to “encourage more of America’s best and brightest to pursue a vocation in the field of addiction and mental health.”  Applicants must currently be enrolled in a degree program in mental/behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Michael P. Metcalf Memorial Fund

Award Amount: $2,000 – $5,000

The Michael P. The AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2022
Award Amount: $1,000

The AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability is awarded annually to “deserving  students with a disability who are pursuing undergraduate/graduate studies (must be at least enrolled as a sophomore in college) in an accredited university and who are pursuing studies related to the health and disability, to include, but not limited to public health, health promotion, disability studies, disability research, rehabilitation engineering, audiology, disability policy, special education and majors that will impact quality of life of persons with disabilities.”  See Scholarship award limitations on the website.

Timothy L Correll Foundation Memorial Scholarships

Award Amount: $750

The Timothy L Correll Foundation mission is to “find and grant scholarships to dedicated individuals who  aspire to go to school to train to serve their communities as nurses or emergency responders.” To be considered for a TLCF Scholarship, applicants must be a Minnesota resident and enrolled in an  undergraduate program in an accredited College or University  in one of  these three programs: fire science, paramedics or nursing.

The Leanbean Clean Athletic Performance Scholarship is open to full time students with a GPA of 3.5 or above.  Submit a current, complete transcript of your grades showing a GPA of 3.5 or above. The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity is not a “traditional scholarship focused on rewarding academic achievement and financial need.” The goal is to reward and encourage innovative and creative problem solving and “aims to honor students who excel as creative problem-solvers….” Eligible applicants must be a high school junior or senior, entering an undergraduate degree program in the fall or in the first year of an undergraduate degree program.  Applicants must be a Connecticut or New York City metropolitan area resident planning to attend or attending an institution of higher education in the U.S., or a resident of the U.S. planning to attend or attending an institution of higher education in CT or NYC. Award Amount: $500

Fathers for Scholars Scholarship

Award Amount: $500

Fathers for Scholars (F4S) is designed to “support young fathers who never benefited from the enrichment of a male role model in the home while growing up.”  Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Fathers with a “desire to be or are already actively engaged in parenting.”  Scholarship awards can be used for enrollment, tuition, or books and supplies.

The Mahoney Family Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: $5,000

The Mahoney Family Foundation is a organization “created to support the ongoing education and training of those in the Nursing and Teaching professions through scholarship programs.”  Grants of up to $5,000 per individual are designed to “help offset the financial burden of required Continuing Education Units or Advanced Degrees incurred by our Nurses and Teachers.”  Eligible applicants must be currently employed as a licensed full-time Nurse or Teacher with at least 3 years’ experience, currently enrolled in a college or university with classes scheduled and must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
