Mensa Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: Various

To be eligible for the Mensa Foundation Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date and submit an application and essay explaining his or her career, academic and/or vocational goals. The Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) Scholarship Program

Deadline: January 19, 2023
Award Amount: $2,500 – $5,000

To be eligible for the Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) Scholarship Program students must be able to describe their ethnicity, heritage, or ancestry in relation to the countries, territories, or lands in Asia or the Pacific Islands, be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States.  See additional scholarship requirements and award limitations on the website.

The “Six Triple Eight” Legacy Scholarship

Deadline: January 21, 2023
Award Amount: $2,500

The Army Womens Foundation is accepting applications for The “Six Tripple Eight” Legacy Scholarship.  Applicants must meet the established criteria of the AWF Legacy Scholarship Program, “including the requirements that applicants must be women who are serving or have served honorably in the U.S. Army.”  The scholarship funds may be used to assist with tuition, fees, books, and school documented room and board. The M.M. Costello Scholarship

Award Amount: $500

The M.M. Costello Scholarship is awarded each year to one recipient who meets the AWF’s eligibility criteria and pursues a major in the healthcare field.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

EmPOWERED to Serve Scholars Program

Deadline: January 30, 2023
Award Amount: $5,000

EmPOWERED to Serve Scholars are students who have “demonstrated their commitment to improve what are known as social determinants of health — the conditions in which people live and work that shape their health.”  The program is open to college freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are actively addressing social determinants of health such as food insecurity, safe housing, job opportunities and access to health care. Spencer Education Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $5,000 – $10,000

The Spencer Education Foundation awards scholarships to full-time undergraduate and graduate students, pre-dissertation students, PhD candidates, and professionals pursuing master’s degrees part time in risk management and insurance. Applicants must be full-time students enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university, be at least a junior or senior, majoring or minoring in risk management, insurance, actuarial science, business, finance or a related field, with a minimum GPA of 3.3. William B. Ruggles Journalism Scholarship

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $2,000

The William B. Ruggles Right to Work Scholarship honors the “esteemed Texas journalist who coined the phrase “Right to Work” and contributed greatly to the movement’s advancement.”   Eligible applicants must be pursuing a degree in journalism or related studies and demonstrate an understanding of the principles of voluntary unionism and the economic and social problems of compulsory unionism by submitting an essay of approximately 500 words. Dr. Francis Anthony Beneventi Medical Scholarship

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $5,000

The Dr. Francis Anthony Beneventi Medical Scholarship is available to a student either attending or planning to attend an approved, accredited medical school, college, or university. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. This scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year for up to four consecutive years, pending receipt of proof of continued enrollment (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant), and after the first semester, an annual transcript review indicating a minimum GPA of 3.25 is required. Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $2,500

The Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship is a one-time $2,500 award given to three students who are in financial need and who have been accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. A letter of acceptance into a nursing program or a transcript stating the applicant is in a nursing program must be included with the application.  The application period begins November 1, 2022.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $2,500

The Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship  will award two students who are accepted or enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Applicants must be members, descendant of members or be eligible for membership in NSDAR. Mildred Nutting Nursing Scholarship

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $2,000

The Mildred Nutting Nursing Scholarship is a one-time $2,000 scholarship for two students who are in financial need and who have been accepted or are currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. A letter of acceptance into the Nursing Program or the transcript stating that the applicant is in the Nursing Program must be enclosed with the application. Preference will be given to candidates from the Lowell, MA area.  The application period begins November 1, 2022.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $1,500

The Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship is a one-time preferred amount of up to $1,500 awarded to one student who is twenty-five (25) years of age or older. Applicants must be studying to teach at the elementary school level.  Applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be at least a college sophomore, and attend or plan on attending an accredited college or university.  The award is based on academic merit and is not automatically renewable, however, recipients may reapply for consideration as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.  The application period begins November 1, 2022.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Secondary Teacher Scholarship

Deadline: January 31, 2023
Award Amount: $1,500

The Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Secondary Teacher Scholarship is a one-time preferred amount of up to $1,500 awarded to one student who is twenty-five (25) years of age or older. Amanda Reed Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: February 1, 2023
Award Amount: Various

The purpose of the Amanda Reed Memorial Scholarship is “to provide educational resources for students who have a commitment to ending dating violence and or domestic abuse.”   Applicants must be a “graduate or graduating senior from a public or private high school located within Boone, Ogle, Stephenson or Winnebago County in Illinois”, have a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0, reflect Amanda’s compassionate and caring nature, and demonstrate a “commitment to domestic violence prevention in their school or the wider community through volunteering, advocacy, projects, or other activities.  Strong preference will be given to applicants who provide a reference from someone familiar with their work in domestic violence prevention, such as a volunteer site supervisor.”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

American Indian Services Scholarships

Award Amount: $500 – $2,000

The American Indian Services Scholarship program opens January 1, 2023 and is designed to “help undergraduate Native American students with financial support to attend college, maintain enrollment, and graduate.”   See additional requirements and award limitations on the website.

Association for Women in Mathematics Essay Contest

Deadline: February 1, 2023
Award Amount: Various

Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) and Math for America “co-sponsor an essay contest for biographies of contemporary women mathematicians and statisticians in academic, industrial, and government careers.”  Essays will be based primarily on an interview with a woman currently working in or retired from a mathematical sciences career. Participation is open to middle school, high school, and undergraduate students.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Big Y Scholarship

Deadline: February 1, 2023
Award Amount: Various

The Big Y scholarships are available to high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students.  To be eligible, a student’s permanent residence, or school, must be located in Massachusetts or Connecticut. See additional requirements and scholarship award limitations on the website.

The American Casting and Manufacturing Scholarship

Deadline: February 1, 2023
Award Amount: $500

The American Casting & Manufacturing Scholarship is a $500-dollar scholarship awarded twice per year, during the Fall and Spring semesters. This scholarship is “open to applicants with any major, awarding those based on writing capabilities and academic achievement.”  Applicants must be a College Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student who is currently enrolled full-time with a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

Deadline: February 1, 2023 – Renewal Applications, May 3, 2023 – New Applications for College Students
Award Amount: Various

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for students ‘enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) and pursuing a bachelor’s degree for the first time.’ Applicants must be a United States citizen or noncitizen who has a current lawful presence in the United States and a work permit, permanent resident of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

In addition to the online application form, the Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA, Financial Aid Award letter, formal essay, several short essays, resume, and transcripts from current college students are required. See scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Roothbert Fund Scholarship

Deadline: February 1, 2023
Award Amount: $5,000 – $7,000 (per year)

The Roothbert Fund Scholarship aims “to help men and women in need of financial aid to further their education.”  The Fund “seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values.”  Preference will be given to undergraduate and graduate students who have completed at least 1 year of study, who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education. Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program

Deadline: February 6, 2023
Award Amount: $1,000 – $10,000

The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship “supports the education of students who have an interest in pursuing a career in fraud examination. The scholarship provides an opportunity for students to advance their education and anti-fraud career paths. Many of these outstanding and deserving students go on to become Certified Fraud Examiners.”  Applicants must currently be enrolled full-time during the 2021-2022 academic year at an accredited, four-year college or university and “have a declared major or minor in accounting, business administration, finance or criminal justice and demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in fraud examination or similar anti-fraud profession.”  In addition to the application, students must be enrolled in 9 semester hours (or equivalent) per term and be at least in the second half of their sophomore year when they apply; graduate students must be enrolled in 6 semester hours (or equivalent) per term; and provide Official Transcript(s) showing all completed college or university courses.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

Good Samaritan Foundation Scholarship

The mission of the Good Samaritan Foundation (GSF) is to “promote nursing as a career by providing scholarship funds directly to student nurses for their clinical nursing courses.” Students must be in good standing with their school of nursing and must submit a complete application. Michael Moddy Fitness Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,500

The Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship is a college scholarship of $1,500 awarded to a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, participation and leadership in school activities and work experience, and interest in pursuing a career in the health and fitness related fields. The student may apply and use the money for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. Applicants must “demonstrate interest in pursuing a career and enrolled in the following majors: Athletic Training, Psychology, Biology, Kinesiology, Nursing, General Medicine, Dentistry, Behavioral Sciences, Personal Training, Physical Education Teaching and Coaching, Health and Physical Fitness, Exercise Science, Sports and Recreation Management, Health Sciences, Physical Therapist, or another health-related major.”  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Zimmerman Law Firm Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,500

The Zimmerman Law Firm Scholarship is pleased to “recognize and support those who have been affected by an auto accident.”  Applicants must have “sustained injuries from an auto accident.”  All candidates must submit a “750 – 1,000-word essay response to the prompt: Tell BK Law about a specific time in your life where you utilized your strong work ethic.”  Applications are open to first-year college students, graduate students, high school students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools.

Fathers for Scholars (F4S) is designed to “support young fathers who never benefited from the enrichment of a male role model in the home while growing up.”  Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Fathers with a “desire to be or are already actively engaged in parenting.”  Scholarship awards can be used for enrollment, tuition, or books and supplies.

Hope for Healing Scholarship

Award Amount: $5,000

The Hope for Healing Scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate and one graduate student each year.  The purpose of this scholarship is to “encourage more of America’s best and brightest to pursue a vocation in the field of addiction and mental health.”  Applicants must currently be enrolled in a degree program in mental/behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Lifetime Adoption Foundation Scholarship

The Lifetime Adoption Foundation Scholarship provides educational scholarships to birth parents who wish to advance their education.  The scholarship is available to any birth mother that has placed a child for adoption any time after 1990.  See scholarship award limitations on the website.

The Mahoney Family Foundation Scholarship

The Mahoney Family Foundation is a organization “created to support the ongoing education and training of those in the Nursing and Teaching professions through scholarship programs.”  Grants of up to $5,000 per individual are designed to “help offset the financial burden of required Continuing Education Units or Advanced Degrees incurred by our Nurses and Teachers.”  Eligible applicants must be currently employed as a licensed full-time Nurse or Teacher with at least 3 years’ experience, currently enrolled in a college or university with classes scheduled and must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.

Triadex Services Scholarship

The Triadex Services Scholarship Program is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors and/or current college students each year. “Students are recognized for their dedication to learning marketing and business methodologies, their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.”  Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university OR a high school senior attending school in the United States anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application, be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident, Refugee, Cuban-Haitian Entrant, or Humanitarian Parolee.  Students must be pursuing or planning to pursue a four-year degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution in marketing, business, technology or entrepreneurship, and have a minimum GPA of 3.3.
