Armenian American Medical Society Scholarship

Deadline: August 15, 2021
Award Amount: $1,000

The Armenian American Medical Society Scholarship is awarded to students of “Armenian Descent or have a special interest in Armenian-related medical causes, be actively involved in community service benefitting the health and wellbeing of our community.”  Students are required to be enrolled in a US accredited medical, pharmacy, dental, physician assistant, nursing, or other professional healthcare schools.

Educational Advancement Foundation

Deadline: August 15, 2021
Award Amount: Various

The Educational Advancement Foundation (EAF) is pleased to offer scholarships to Graduate students.  Students must be currently enrolled as a full time student, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (“B” average), and demonstrate community service and involvement.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. (EAF) provides funds to “advance education in fulfillment of its mission: “To promote life-long learning.” To be eligible for this one-year one-time only scholarship, applicants must be a full-time graduate student, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate community service and involvement.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. AAPINA Scholarship

Deadline: August 31, 2021
Award Amount: $1,000

The Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA) is pleased to award $1,000 to one of its members pursuing an undergraduate or a graduate nursing degree. The purpose of this scholarship is to “support nursing education for AAPINA members and thus enhance the contribution of our membership in achieving AAPINA’s core mission.”  To be eligible, applicants must have two years of AAPINA membership and active membership for current year, be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate nursing program (masters or doctoral), and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Arctic Physical Therapy Scholarship

Deadline: August 31, 2021
Award Amount: $500

Arctic Physical Therapy is pleased to offer scholarships to students “enrolled in any field of study”. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be attending a college or university, full or part-time no later than January of 2022.

September Deadlines

EmPOWERED to Serve Scholars

Deadline: September 10, 2021
Award Amount: $5,000

The American Heart Foundation is accepting applications from currently enrolled college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with “aspirations of using their degree to improve health outcomes and reduce the gap in health disparities among under-resourced and racially and ethnically diverse communities” to apply for the EmPOWERED to Serve Scholars Scholarship.  Applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing.

Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program

Deadline: September 30, 2021
Award Amount: Up to $1,000

The Creative Biolabs seeks to “further support their research and higher education in the medical and science-related fields” by offering the Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program.  This scholarship is open to freshman, undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. students on a global basis. To be eligible to receive a scholarship, you must “major in a science-related field such as Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Molecular Biology” and have a GPA of 3.0.

October Deadlines

Andrew J. Zabierek Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: October 1, 2021
Award Amount: Up to $2,000

The Andrew J. Zabierek Foundation is honored to give two awards yearly “either to veterans in recognition of their military service and commitment to complete their college education, technical certificate or to organizations that support veterans.” Applicants must be residents of Massachusetts who have been honorably discharged from service.

Students With A Heart Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: October 1, 2021
Award Amount: $500 – $6,000

The mission of Students with Heart Foundation is to “provide financial assistance by means of scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students who suffer from all different types of heart disease and deformities, thus relieving some of the stress from the rough and rigorous journey they will face throughout college.”  Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at least part-time, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and submit a personal statement of no more than 2,000 words and no less than 500 words, “describing what obstacles they have had to overcome due to their cardiac disease or deformities.”

Bill Kane Undergraduate Scholarship

Deadline: October 15, 2021
Award Amount: $1,000

SHAPE America is accepting applications for the Bill Kane Undergraduate Scholarch program.  The award is open to any student officially recognized as an undergraduate health education major at an accredited college/university in the United States or a U.S. territory.  Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time for both the fall and spring semesters of the academic year during which the student is applying. Eligible applicants include sophomores, juniors or seniors with a current overall GPA of 3.25.

Alma Exley Scholarship Program

Deadline: October 31, 2021
Award Amount: Up to $5,000

The Alma Exley Scholarship Program awards one scholarship annually “to a person of color who is enrolled in a teacher-preparation program….” Eligible applicants “include African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans.” Students may apply after having been admitted into a teacher-preparation program in Connecticut. Applicants may be in their junior or senior year or pursuing a master’s degree.

Frank J. Vigilante Scholarship

Deadline: November 1, 2021
Award Amount: Various

The Frank J. Vigilante Scholarship is open to students of “Italian extraction, demonstrate financial need, and must have high academic achievement.” Students must have a demonstrated financial need for their education and must have proof of being admitted to and/or enrolled at an accredited institution of higher education.  Applicants must submit an essay detailing “why the Frank J. Vigilante Scholarship will help them to fulfill their personal and professional goals.”

The WONGDOODY Creative Black Womxn to Watch Scholarship

Deadline: November 13, 2021
Award Amount: Various

The WONGDOODY Creative Scholarship works to “bolster underrepresented groups in our industry in order to create a more diverse and inclusive future.”   The Creative Black Womxn to Watch Scholarship “accepts all Black Womxn — this includes cis-gender, transgender, non-binary, queer, genderqueer, genderfluid, and in-transition.”  Applicants must be a currently enrolled student at a college in the United States and have completed at least their sophomore year of undergraduate studies or their first year of portfolio or graduate school and maintain satisfactory academic progress as determined by their school, as well as pursuing a creative-focused role in experience design, marketing or advertising including but not limited to experience designers, strategists, and content creators.

ACES Scholarship Program

Deadline: November 15, 2021
Award Amount: $1,500 – $3,500

Applicants must be students enrolled at a college/university as juniors, seniors, or graduate students during the summer and/or fall term in 2021. “Scholarships are awarded without regard to the student’s major or field of academic concentration” and to students who “excel in critical thinking about written materials in any field.”

Lincoln-Lane Foundation

The Lincoln-Lane Foundation offers scholarships to full time students from the Tidewater area of Virginia. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need.

The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards

Award Amount: $1,000 – $16,000

The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards “assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.”  Applicants must be enrolled in or have been accepted to an undergraduate degree program, and not yet have a graduate degree.

The UCT Scholarship Program

Deadline: November 15, 2021
Award Amount: Various

The UCT Scholarship Program, funded by UCT Charities, provides scholarships to “students and teachers seeking college degrees or certification to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be a teacher of students with intellectual disabilities who needs extra course work to be certified/retain certification; be an experienced teacher who wishes to become certified to teach students with intellectual disabilities; be a college junior or senior whose undergraduate course of study is in special education, focusing on teaching people with intellectual disabilities; currently enrolled in courses to become a certified instructor for people with intellectual disabilities; or, be in the second year of a two-year associate’s degree program at an accredited school with the course of study focusing on teaching people with intellectual disabilities.”  Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Peter K. New Award

Deadline: November 30, 2021
Award Amount: $500 – $2,000

The Peter K. New Award is an “annual student research competition in the applied social and behavioral sciences.”  The award will be given to the best paper which “reports on an applied research project in the social/behavioral sciences. The research question should be in the domain of health care or human services (broadly construed).”  Applicants must be registered as a student at the graduate or undergraduate level in a college or university during the most recent calendar year and not have a previously-earned doctoral degree.

Emery Reddy Legal Studies Scholarship

Deadline: November 30, 2021
Award Amount: $2,500

The Emery Reddy Legal Studies Scholarship is open to all applicants who are attending or accepted into an accredited college or university within the United States.  Applicants are required to write a 250-500 word essay on “why they are pursuing a career in legal studies and/or why they are interested in the legal field.”

James F. Reville Scholarship Application

Deadline: January 7, 2022
Award Amount: $5,000

The James F. Reville Scholarship is presented to an individual who “intends to pursue a career related to the field of intellectual or other developmental disabilities such as behavioral sciences, social work, nursing, healthcare administration and management or psychology.”   To be eligible students must be enrolled full-time in any year of their college education, training in a field related to intellectual or other developmental disabilities and be a New York State resident.

Hope for Healing Scholarship

Deadline: February 11, 2022
Award Amount: $5,000

The Hope for Healing Scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate and one graduate student each year.  The purpose of this scholarship is to “encourage more of America’s best and brightest to pursue a vocation in the field of addiction and mental health.”  Applicants must currently be enrolled in a degree program in mental/behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Timothy L Correll Foundation Memorial Scholarships

Deadline: March 20, 2022
Award Amount: $750

The Timothy L Correll Foundation mission is to “find and grant scholarships to dedicated individuals who  aspire to go to school to train to serve their communities as nurses or emergency responders.” To be considered for a TLCF Scholarship, applicants must be a Minnesota resident and enrolled in an  undergraduate program in an accredited College or University  in one of  these three programs: fire science, paramedics or nursing.

Fathers for Scholars Scholarship

Award Amount: $500

Fathers for Scholars (F4S) is designed to “support young fathers who never benefited from the enrichment of a male role model in the home while growing up.”  Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Fathers with a “desire to be or are already actively engaged in parenting.”  Scholarship awards can be used for enrollment, tuition, or books and supplies.

The Mahoney Family Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: Rolling
Award Amount: $5,000

The Mahoney Family Foundation is a organization “created to support the ongoing education and training of those in the Nursing and Teaching professions through scholarship programs.”  Grants of up to $5,000 per individual are designed to “help offset the financial burden of required Continuing Education Units or Advanced Degrees incurred by our Nurses and Teachers.”  Eligible applicants must be currently employed as a licensed full-time Nurse or Teacher with at least 3 years’ experience, currently enrolled in a college or university with classes scheduled and must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
