October is Emotional Wellness Month, making it the perfect time to take a self-check on your mental well-being. Start with a Mental Health Screening, an online screening of your behavioral health. If this self-check finds you in doubt or distress, find help at Post:

- Student Online Assistance Resource (SOAR) – counseling, finance, legal & more
- Post’s series of online personal and professional skills workshops and webinars
And we offer one more resource—your personal advisor.
Remember, we are here for you.
Your personal advisor wants to help you find the resources you need to succeed in your classes and in life. Whether you want emotional support, help with your studies, or just need to connect, reach out and access these resources today.
We will be with you every step of the way.
The School of Arts & Sciences is Celebrating STEAMtober All Month Long
The second annual “STEAMtober” celebration is on the October calendar, honoring the School of Arts and Sciences’ programs and disciplines with events and opportunities for students online and on campus.
The monthlong celebration uses the acronym STEAM, which represents the school’s focus on Sciences (Biology), Technology (Computer Information Systems), Equine Studies and English, Arts (Art, Music, Communication & Media Studies) and Math (Data Science), as well as other liberal arts’ subjects.
Here are just some of the month’s activities and events:

- The English program will host a week of Flash Fiction workshops and a contest, co-sponsored by the Center for Academic Success, in its classes during the week of Oct. 16. An Open Mic Night, featuring the talents of students and faculty, will be Oct. 26 in MacDermid Hall 115. The Post community is encouraged to share original works, including poetry, spoken word and music.
- From Oct. 22 to Oct. 25, the Communication & Media Studies program will honor Media Literacy with a special “Communication Conquest” for students. Campus and online students in COM classes can participate in a Post U.-focused in-person or virtual scavenger hunt for information.
