Student Skill Builders –
Library and Research
Campus Murals:
Love
This year, we commissioned women artists to create six original works for the murals that adorn the sides of Hess Hall, North Hall, MacDermid Hall, and the Traurig Library building. The artists shared works based on the themes of diversity, equity & inclusion, environment, love, and technology. We’re excited to share more about these artists and where they got the inspiration for their creations.

Creating a nurturing environment for students involves showcasing the importance of positive friendships, as they foster a loving atmosphere. Genuine listening between students and their acquaintances acts as a form of love, enhancing empathy and connection. Encouragement also plays a vital role in empowering individuals to embrace challenges. Prioritizing these principles helps to cultivate a culture of affection, support, and development within the university.
STEAMtober Showcase Event:
* Ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening of the new campus biology lab | October 12, 2023 4:00 p.m. Eastern time in MacDermid 107. Light refreshments will be served.
* “Starry Starry STEAMtober Night” featuring stargazing with astronomy experts and a showing of the film “Loving Vincent,” about Vincent Van Gogh following the ribbon-cutting. Light refreshments will be served.
