Waterbury, Conn. (November 18, 2020) – Post University has raised $168,990, its largest amount to date, for the United Way of Greater Waterbury. The collective donation was raised during the nonprofit’s Be the Reason 2020/2021 campaign, chaired by Post University CEO & President John L. Hopkins.

Donations from University associates were up almost 50 percent from last year, with 73 donations coming from first-time givers.

“At the beginning of this campaign, I urged our faculty to dig deep and consider the importance of working together to protect the most vulnerable in our communities,” said Post University CEO & President John L. Hopkins. “I am beyond thrilled and proud of our dedicated students, faculty, staff, and community partners for this impactful accomplishment. Our neighbors and friends need us now more than ever and Post University associates are the reason greater Waterbury will emerge stronger from this pandemic.

Two additional groups joined associates in raising funds for the campaign. Post University Honors Program students pledged $985, which was matched by Post Honors Program Chair Linda Kobylarz. The University’s marketing partners Education Dynamics, SignPro, Landmark Printers, Perfect Promotions, O’Connell & Goldberg Public Relations, and Ballard Spahr, LLP supported the campaign.

The fundraiser was the centerpiece of the University’s 2020 Workplace campaign. For more information on the United Way of Greater Waterbury and the Post University 2020 Workplace Campaign, please call 800-660-665.
