Student Life Renamed Campus Life and New Leadership Appointed!

Previously known as both Residence Life and Student Life, we recently renamed the department Campus Life.  This change is meant to better represent our entire student population, including main campus resident students and commuter students.  Our intent is to bring a sense of belonging to all of our campus students, not just our residents.  Commuters, as well as residents, should feel at home on our beautiful campus, and this name change is reflective of our desire to make our living and learning community more welcoming to all.

Daniel Guerrera has been appointed the Director of Campus Life.  Daniel has been at Post since June 2021 and previously served as the Program Manager for Activities and Leadership Development within the Center for Career and Professional Development.  Daniel’s strong passion for helping all students feel comfortable and engaged while on campus will fit very well within our newly focused Office of Campus Life.

Sabrina Martino has moved into the role of Community Directory, having previously served as Community Assistant.  Sabrina holds bachelor’s degrees in both Child Studies and Human Services from Post, graduating Cum Laude with Honors Program Distinction.

Jeff Olsen is taking on the role of Dean of Students in addition to his current role as Vice President of Student Experience.  Jeff has held several roles during his 12 years at Post and will work to develop and enhance the student life, campus life, and overall student experience structure to keep “Happy and Proud” students in the forefront of our minds.

Coming Soon: An Updated Blackboard Homepage

As part of our commitment to deliver positive technology experiences for our students, beginning August 23, 2022, we are introducing a new Blackboard homepage for all students.  Don’t worry, the new navigation does not affect courses. Courses will still look and feel as they do right now.

  1. It’s Enjoyable to Use. The new page has an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly view.
  2. Gets You Where You Need to Be Faster. By providing information from your courses in one place, Blackboard makes it a cinch to get in, and get it done.
  3. Works on All Devices. It works on your desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone, so your learning experience will be terrific.
  4. See How You’re Doing in Classes. Quickly check grades in your courses at a glance. Get more detail with just a click.
  5. Use the Institution Page to instantly connect to trusted resources and services at Post.

Online Students: Have You Booked Time With Your Academic Success Counselor?!

Earlier this year, we announced that online students can easily schedule virtual appointments with their academic success counselor through the Student Portal.  Booking a one-on-one virtual meeting is a great way to connect with them and discuss anything related to your academics.  But remember, making an appointment does not replace your ability to call and email your team members. If you have an urgent matter, it’s important to call the team directly at 203.568.1652.

To Enable the “Make An Appointment” Tile in the Student Portal
  1. Log in to the Student Portal by going to http://post.edu and clicking Student Login in the upper right corner of the page
  2. Click the “Personalize” link in the upper right corner of the page
  3. Check the box next to “Make An Appointment”
  4. Save your changes and the tile will populate

We are excited to offer you this collaborative way to connect with your academic success counselor!
